WE NOW SHARE A HOUSE BY THE SEA

[ Interview With Lol y Cindy Tolhurst From Levinhurst By Diego Centuriรณn ]

On April 17, 2007, Levinhurst's album House by the Sea was released. And because this is part of our gene, we want to bring the band's look on that album that surprised us by its beauty. And Levinhurst is already one of the bands that always return to our pages. We were already missing her. We cannot deny the joy that caused us to hear in February 2007 the departure of The Grey, that EP that could be the anteroom of the album that came out in April. While they used to include some version of songs of the ex- band of Lol live, how was it to re-record a song from The Cure? Lol: It was very good as we already knew the song and it has a special place in my memory being about my mother’s death. Then the two songs that follow in this EP, are two songs that appear in the album, but the versions are different. What are the original versions and what are the reinterpretations? Lol: I wanted to have Michael Dempsey remix a song to introduce him to people as part of Levinhurst Already entering House By The Sea. It is 10 years since the launch. And the time seems not to have passed sonorously. How do you feel today, ten years after launch?

Cindy: For us it is a snapsot of our marriage at the time and a good place to be. It continues to be very real In this album participates remixed some tracks Michael Dempsey, how happens this new encounter with him? Lol: We have always been friends even after he left the Cure it’s a natural thing to work with him again. Cindy, what do you remember about the work of letters? Do you enter the studio with the definite lyrics or do you allow yourself to play inside it? Cindy: In the same way that lol collaborate with Robert on Cure lyrics . We collaborated on Levinhurst lyrics. They are both personal to that relationship and part of the relationship. And how was the stage of songwriting? How long has it taken them to write the songs on the album? Lol and Cindy: I think they came over a period of one year Thinking about this and other publications of the band, it always seems to me that the songs do not belong to a specific time. That is to say as they do not reflect a particular time, like saying "this sounds like a decade" or something. How do you feel this? Lol: We Always tried very hard not to make fashio-

nable music. Just as the fashion dies so does the music. It’s chained to our feelings not a fashion. SO it’s always relevant. What does "House by The Sea" mean in Levinhurst's life? Cindy: It is the place where we live both in reality and figuratively. We both came from a house by the sea and we now share one together.

We have already done an interview on "Perfect Life" and we asked for a track by track. We can't stop doing the same for "House by The Sea". Nobody Cares: About dying and about the reality of living. Never Going To Dream Again: A friend had a heartbreak so its about lost love. Beautiful Life: The title says it all. Unreality: A place to hide. I Am: My experience in the Mojave desert. Heart and Soul: What we seek. Another Way: Seeking. Forgiven: To truly live you have to forgive everyone even yourself. House by The Sea: A peaceful place.

Lol, you've been presenting your book "Cured: The Tale of Two Imaginary Boys”. Was it a kind of exorcism of his past in

Lol: There’s always another book! And there will be another one as I’m writing it now…

The Cure? How to permanently close a cycle? Lol: Certianly it was cathartic but its not an end in itself

In March, thirty years have been commemorated since the first presentation of The Cure in Argentina. Cindy, did he ever

You wrote the book after many years of leaving The Cure. Did it take you a long time to make the decision to sit down and write? Lol: It seemed the right time. I have had a long time to reflect

tell you the chaos he was? And Lol, what do you remember? Cindy: Yes he told me but he said “what I recall Is in the book One reason to write was to commemorate so people will know the truth”

on the truth of the Cure and my relationship to it. I read that the book gave him the opportunity to do something Let's say, you Lol, you are part of our lives, at least in my case, since adolescence. And we are always attentive to what you do, and we follow in social networks their presentations in different places of the world. How do you see the acceptance of the book?

he always wanted to do. What should we expect from a new album or a new book? Lol: Both! The book has opened up a channel of creativity that I shall explore.

LOL: It has been very good! I realised that for the book to be accepted I have to be truly honest and so I feel people like that that

And to finish the interview that you have kindly granted us, will there be something new from Levinhurst? Can we say that

What possibilities are there for the publication of the book in several languages? Will there be Spanish? Lol: Already in French soon in Spanish and Finnish and

there is an active year for Levinhurst? Lol: There will but it will take time I’m still very busy with the book!!

Czech! I want to thank both of you for the time you have given us. The Do you think there was anything left without writing in the book? Something that you noticed when you received the finished product?

last space is left to say what they want. Thank you for all the support and love.
