What is a Mudra? To put it simply, a Mudra is a hand gesture that guides the energy flow to specific areas of the brain. There are many types of Mudras designed to bring different benefits, depending on what we specifically need. They are done in conjunction with breathing to increase the flow of Prana in the body. By practicing it, a connection is developed with the patterns in the brain that influences the unconscious reflexes in the different areas. The internal energy is, in turn, balanced and redirected, creating an impact on the sensory organs, tendons and glands veins.

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS: WHEN DO WE NEED PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING? A Counselor can support you when you are facing issues of mild/moderate intensity. These could be issues a person faces in their day to day normal life, something that is bothering them and they are not able to let go of this thought , it needs to be addressed. A Counselor will allow you to talk, share and express your thoughts and feelings so that you can vent and you will not be judged for what you share. A Counselor is different from a friend, a counselor is professional and is in no way connected to the client apart from the counselorclient professional relationship. This allows the client to share even those thoughts that one would not share with a friend normally for fear of the privacy not being maintained. Counselors maintain confidentiality as this is the most important factor for a client to open up and share .Only in some cases a counselor might breach confidentiality for example in case the client is feeling suicidal or wants to harm others, in such situations the immediate family members or close friends need to be informed to save lives. Clients who seek help from a counselor are not mentally ill, they may be temporarily in a difficult situation that
This Mudra gives rise to the root chakra reducing tension and depression. This pose is quite calming and spiritually awakening. It stimulates the air element in the body, which ultimately leads to an increase in the memory power, nervous system and pituitary gland production. It increases the level of concentration, builds mental power and sharpens the brain. If done regularly, your mental and psychological disorders such as anger, stress, anxiety depression and even insomnia can be improved considerably.
they are not able to handle on their own. When a client shows signs and symptoms of a mental illness, based on the severity, they are referred to a Clinical Psychologist or a Psychiatrist for treatment. Counseling process is one that usually requires several sessions over a period of time depending on the progress being made by the client in terms of efforts being made by the client, emotional strength of the client and situational factors. A Counselor is a facilitator who is also an emotional wellness coach and supports clients make progress from where they are to where they want to be and this process takes time. A Counseling session is not a quick fix for finding solutions to issues especially that are there from months or years. There is nothing wrong in seeking support when you need it. Every human being has a need to talk, to share and express as this gives a feeling of being heard and adds to overall well-being. Battle of wits
A
great pundit came to Vijayanagara. He had mastered all the scriptures, and had won the admiration of learned men all over India. He had come to challenge the pundits in the court of King Krishnadeva Raya to face him in a debate. The scholars in Vijayanagara were reluctant to face this pundit. They felt they were no match to the pundit in scholarship. But the King would be annoyed if they refused to accept the challenge. One of them said, “Let us speak to Raman. Surely, he will find a solution.” The pundits called on Raman, and explained the situation. Raman assured them that he could take on the challenger. “For one day, you must accept me as the Chief Pundit,” he said. The other pundits readily agreed. The next day, the pundits carried Raman in a palanquin to the palace hall. Raman and the challenger sat facing each other. Two pundits carrying a huge bundle wrapped in silken cloth entered the hall. They placed the bundle next to Raman and bowed to him.
revealing a huge bundle of sticks tied with a thick rope! The King frowned and asked Raman to explain. “Maharaj, til is mustard; kashta is stick, tilakashta means sticks of mustard plants,” explained Raman. Then, displaying the rope Raman said, “This is rope used to tie up a buffalo — mahisha means buffalo, bandhana means the rope used for tying — so, this is tila-kashta-mahisha-bandhana” The king burst out laughing. The poor pundit had gotten scared when he heard such a complicated name! Raman had saved the honour of Vijayanagara by his wit. The king richly rewarded Raman.
The next day, the pundits carried Raman in a palanquin to the palace hall. Raman placed his hand on the bundle next to him. “We can begin the debate discussing the merits of tila-kashta-mahisha-bandhana,” said Raman. The other pundit was taken aback. He had read thousands of scholarly works in Sanskrit. But he had never heard of this work mentioned by Raman. If he had not even read anything about it, how could he discuss the merits of this work? The pundit conceded defeat and quietly left the palace. The King was curious to know what great work Raman had referred to. Raman removed the silk cloth

Rain water Harvesting for our Future Rainwater harvesting system is collection of rainwater from the surface which directly receives rainfall
The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage (Amendment) Act, 2009, 72A-Obligation to provide rain water harvesting structure states that “Within nine months from the date of commencement of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage (Amendment) Act, 2009 every owner or occupier of a building having a sital area of 2400 square feet and above or every owner who propose to construct a building on a sital area of 1200 square feet and above shall provide for rain water harvesting structure in such manner, with such conditions as may be provided in the regulations, failing It can be easy to take rainwater for granted, particularly if you live in a temperate or tropical climate where drought is a rare event. But we need to pay more attention to rainwater, because this resource, so essential to all live on earth, is not infinite. We should all be conscious of the water we use (and waste), and make efforts to maximize the functions for which water is used. Another strategy to maximize water efficiency is rainwater harvesting. This refers is the deliberate collection of rainwater from surfaces that it falls on, rather than letting the water simply run
off and enter the municipal drainage system. The collected water is then stored and utilized for multiple functions in the garden and home. Rainwater harvesting system is collection of rainwater from the surface which directly receives rainfall. Rainwater harvesting can be adopted in cities to supplement the city’s other water supplies, to increase soil moisture levels for urban greenery, to raise the water table through artificial recharge, to mitigate urban flooding and to improve the quality of groundwater. As rainwater may be contaminated, it is often not considered suitable for drinking.. However, there are many examples of rainwater being used for all purposes including drinking following suitable treatment. If you want to use rainwater in the home, you will need to invest in filtration and pumping systems, but for use in the garden, the set-up is usually much simpler. There are several systems you can use to collect rainwater, with options suitable for both rural and urban, large and small sites. Beneciary facts of rain water harvesting
* The rain water that falls on your roof and property is essentially free. All it takes is a method to harvest it in to a tank or cistern for later use. * While rain water can be a perfect primary water source for many uses and situations. It is also a great backup water supply for emergency situations. * It can be a great educational tool to get people to recognize their individual or household water usage.
Green Roof: There is another method of rainwater harvesting that cuts out the middleman, so to speak. Rather than collect the rainwater in a storage unit then divert it to the garden, you could institute a green roof on your property, so that plants can utilize the water immediately. You need to put down a liner to protect your roof, and have a drainage system for excess runoff (it is most efficient if your drainage system is diverted into a barrel), but instituting garden beds planted with low-maintenance plants, means your are maximizing the productive space on your plot and making use of the rainwater where it falls. In addition, planting a green roof will also provide additional insulation to your property (and so reducing your heating bills) and protect the roof from

damage. Seed Bombs / Balls: A technique of planting trees by embedding organic seed balls in the ground, seed bombing is gaining popularity in many Indian cities. ... Since then, seed bombing also known as aerial reforestation Roof Top Gardening: This is an ideal way for an urban gardener to expand on. Use plastic, fiber glass or foam planting containers as eco friendly. It most effects on reducing the internal Temperature of rooms in buildings Hope this is a best thing to do in this rainy season. do as better as you can and go green for the future.

Story Of The Week
Magic with Scientic Logic 1. Toothpick Torpedo
I
How To Do? Dab a little shampoo on the blunt end of a wooden toothpick. Drop the toothpick in a pan of water. The toothpick will start moving in the direction of the sharp end.
How Does It Work? Shampoo contains agents that reduce the surface tension of liquids. As the shampoo on the end of the toothpick dissolves, it reduces the water’s surface tension around it, thus releasing the water’s hold on that end of the toothpick. The water around the other end of the toothpick still has surface tension, so it pulls the toothpick in that direction.
2. A Candle That Sucks Water How To Do? Place a candle upright in the middle of a saucer. Fill the saucer with water. Light the candle. Place a glass over the candle. When the flame goes out, the water in the saucer will get sucked into the glass.
How Does It Work? When the candle is burning inside the glass, the heat makes the air expand, so some of the air escapes outside the glass. The candle goes out after it uses up all the oxygen, so the air inside the glass cools. As it cools, the pressure inside the glass drops. Some of the carbon dioxide formed by the flame dissolves in the water as well, decreasing the pressure even more. The water outside the glass on the saucer is forced into the glass by the higher air pressure outside.

t was a rainy July day, and I returned home from school wet and shivering. I enjoyed the smell of hot pakodas boiling in the oil, well I had felt quite better after eating then. Later that evening I played cricket with my friends, and I had a huge argument with the opponent teams batsman because boiling after 3 overs I had finally made him out and he says that it was a no ball, well I didn't want get into much of fights, so I returned home and starred to chat with my friend and shares a strange fact with me that 22nd of July was a magical night that anything could happen!. Maybe he was just trying to joke with me, but I didn't realize it until that night I had suddenly woken up from my sleep and strange uneven lights started to glow from the window beside me, and then some dark red and blue lights came out. And then I thought that maybe what my friend had said to me was right. Aliens had invaded us and the red and blue lights were of spider man who wanted to save us from them. That time I did not have that much courage to open the window and see out, I some how managed to sleep in that fear . The next morning when I went out to tell about the incident to my friend, there was a shed kept and a coffin in the middle containing a dead body .My friend was crying, I went near him and asked him the reason why he was crying and he said "My grandfather died" I was shocked and I asked him how it happens and he said "He had a heart attack"I knew it maybe grandpa got a heart attack seeing the aliens and Spider man’s fight .Then my friend said to me that sorry for the nights disturbance of the ambulance's red blue lights and its alarming horn .Then I got to know that my chatting friend was just pranking me. - Nodha Anne 8th grade, JGRVK

A Tribute to the Legend
Y
uvraj Singh’s announcement to retire from International Cricket brought tears to the eyes of many as he has always been a fighter and never showed signs of throwing in the towel so soon. Having been tagged the “Player For Tournaments”, he played the most pivotal role in India’s road to success in the 2007 T20 world cup and 2011 50 Over World Cup. Personally, the most memorable by far being the six sixes scored off Stuart Broad in Durban that took Yuvi to a record breaking half century of just 12 balls. Which propelled India to the qualifiers of the tournament. Followed by the knock in the Natwest series finals at Lord’s. An unforgettable 69 runs of just 63 balls, taking the experienced English bowling line up to the cleaners. And the latest being, 150 runs scored against England at Cuttack in 2017 which brought joy to the Hearts of all Indian fans to see the Southpaw make a comeback to the Indian team. We all have our favorite sports persons, but it would be really hard not to have a legend like Yuvi in the top 3. “You We” Can be an inspiration to every one of us. He will always be remembered as one of the most destructive batsmen in International Cricket and waiting to see him smash the bowlers to all parts in the upcoming T20 leagues.

ane Discipline is one of the important tests conducted during the Driver's License Examination. These days the drivers, especially the motorists do not follow the rules of Lane Discipline, which is one of the major causes for road accidents. This may cause serious damage to the vehicle as well as the driver or sometimes even death. Basic rules of Lane Discipline for safe and joyful rides are:
Maintain the Universal Lane In India, the universal lane is the right most lane where the vehicles (LMV, SUV, MUV, etc.) are only allowed to occupy when they are following the speed limits. Slow moving traffic like motorcycles, rickshaws, heavy vehicles like trucks and buses must strictly stick to the left lanes and not cause obstruction to the other fast moving vehicles. Maintaining the Lane One must strictly follow this rule of maintaining the lane and not drifting from one lane to the other at very short intervals of time. Also it is mandatory to maintain the car in the center of the lane and not drifting beyond the white markings on the roads. This may cause misunderstanding among the other drivers which may lead to crashes. If your vehicle shifts off road, you create a huge risk of hitting the pedestrians or other objects on your way. Switching the Lanes While switching between the lanes, make sure you use your rear view mirrors wisely. Sudden change of lane may cause sudden braking or mishandling of the other vehicles. Once you are sure that there will not be any disturbance to the moving traffic, turn on the indicator in the direction of the lane you want to switch to let know the traffic. Switching the lanes suddenly is a dangerous habit, hence make sure that the indicators are turned on prior enough. Use of Other Lanes The highways are normally 6-Laned or 8-Laned. Usually, the right lane is used at the most. The other lanes are used while overtaking. While switching the lanes to overtake the slow moving traffic, make sure you intend your movement clearly and use the rear view mirrors to make sure there is no other vehicle trying to overtake as your movement will be an obstruction to them. Use of Roundabouts In India, maintaining lane discipline at roundabouts is nearly impossible. That clearly does not mean there are no rules made. Using a lane at roundabouts depends on the direction you choose to move towards. Normally the roundabouts consist of 2 Lanes, the outer lane and the inner lane. The outer lane is to be used when you wish to choose the nearest exit of the roundabout. Moving towards the inner lane indicates you choosing to exit the roundabout at the later exits. Also, while entering the roundabout, make sure you give way to the vehicles presently using the roundabout. Small Steps can bring about Big Changes, so let's be the change we want to see in our society. Varadkar Mohnish
