How can Jesus be enough?

2 Corinthians 12:9 But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’ s power may reside in me.

Jesus is all we need. In fact, He is more than we will ever need! He is bigger than any person or any problem. Real evidence for the power of God is made known to all the world when we, as believers, rely upon Him.

To those who do not believe it looks like insanity to depend upon a God no one can see; but the weakness referred to in this passage isn’t about physical strength. It is about being obedient and trusting in His purpose even if we do not have all of the answers.

This is what we call “faith.” It is the reliance upon, and devotion to, things unseen.” Be faithful; what the world sees as weakness is really a source of strength.

Endless forgiving?

Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how many times could my brother sin against me and I forgive him? As many as seven times?"

“I tell you, not as many as seven," Jesus said to him, "but 70 times seven. ”

Matthew West answers the question very eloquently in his hit “Forgiveness,” when he tells the listener that forgiveness frees the real prisoner which is really me and you.

Seven is a perfect number, and would ordinarily suggest completion. However, in the case of forgiveness, Jesus tells Peter that forgiveness is an infinite process of healing and is never completed. The reason for this is a simple fact: the real victim of an unforgiving heart is not the person who needs to be forgiven, but the one who needs to forgive.
