meditations for an everyday relationship with Jesus
Healing in woundedness?
Isaiah 53:5 But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; punishment for our peace was on Him, and we are healed by His wounds.

The prophet Isaiah foretells the scourging of Jesus Christ centuries before it came to pass. But, how can healing come from someone being hurt in our place? How can we live by the death of another?
Debt always has to be repaid unless it is forgiven. Living may be a gift, but it is a gift that takes more than it gives back because of the nature of sin. Jesus actually had to purchase our sin, and paid the Father what we could not. Because sin will not just go away on its own the payment required to cover it up once and for all was the death of the only innocent one. It is the consummate irony, I believe.
Rules and scorecards cannot add up to a tally that exonerates us. We are truly unforgivable! The only way to win is to believe on Jesus.
What is a letter to the Hebrews?
Hebrews 1:1-3 Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things and through whom He made the universe. He is the radiance of His glory, the exact expression of His nature, and He sustains all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
This letter or “epistle” to the Hebrews is Holy Scripture that speaks directly to believing Jews about the person of Jesus Christ. It ties together the Old and New Testaments by clearly illustrating the transformation of the Law given to Moses into an expression of God’s grace. Jesus died for all men, both the Jew and the Gentile.
God has spoken in different ways at different times, but God’s voice is the always same … it is the voice of love and purpose. Seek God and find your purpose. Know that you are loved.
