meditations for an everyday relationship with Jesus
Proclaim God!
Psalm 40:9-10 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly; see, I do not keep my mouth closed -as You know, Lord.

I did not hide Your righteousness in my heart; I spoke about Your faithfulness and salvation; I did not conceal Your constant love and truth from the great assembly.
So, have you kept your mouth shut like a tomb? Have you been reluctant to pronounce the truth of Jesus Christ to the “great assembly?” In our time the great assembly is our local community; this is as it was in ancient times.
If we hide what we know to be true we may not touch those who need to hear a comforting word or an admonition. Tell about your personal experience with God in Jesus Christ! Testify!
Do not keep your light under a bushel or those who are in darkness will mot be able to clearly see the path worth taking. We are to be “glow in the dark people” … maybe the only light some folks will ever see.
Shine brightly!
God and money
Luke 16:10-13 Whoever is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and whoever is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much. So if you have not been faithful with the unrighteous money, who will trust you with what is genuine? And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give you what is your own? No household slave can be the slave of two masters, since either he will hate one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t be slaves to both God and money.”
This is simply about stewardship. Of the four relationships that we must cultivate as believers, this one is probably the most challenging because it means taking what we have learned and applying it to our everyday living. The other relationships, i.e. with God, self and others can seem very abstract to us, but this one has “practical” written all over it.
Some say we can serve God by giving money, funding a project or a cause, while others say we can only truly serve God if we cast off all of our material trappings … that money or mammon is somehow evil.
In the context of our faith, Jesus is asking us to be in balance and to use our resources wisely. Being rich will not save anyone but either will a vow of poverty. Be alive: worship Jesus Christ is spirit and in truth.
