meditations for an everyday relationship with Jesus
God does not tempt
James 1:13-14 No one undergoing a trial should say, "I am being tempted by God." For God is not tempted by evil, and He Himself doesn't tempt anyone. But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desires.

God is neither tempted nor does He tempt. God is not capable of this because it is against the very construct of His nature. If He cannot be in the presence of sin without incinerating it, then it is impossible for Him to do something ungodly like tempting or being tempted. Temptation is a tool of theAdversary, not of God.
If we are undergoing a trial, then we should pray for the strength to bear our cross and be grateful that we are not being nailed to it!

Wages of sin
James 1:15 Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.
A contrite heart will prevent this from resulting in death of the soul … because it is the death of the soul which is at stake, not the demise of the flesh.
