Peaceable kingdom

Prophecy throughout

Esther 9:1-2 The king's command and law went into effect on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month Adar. On the day when the Jews' enemies had hoped to overpower them, just the opposite happened. The Jews overpowered those who hated them. In each of King Ahasuerus' provinces the Jews assembled in their cities to attack those who intended to harm them. Not a single person could withstand them; terror of them fell on every nationality.

The promise behind the stealth and the strength of the Jews was God, of course. We know this because we have plenty of Biblical commentaries that tell us so. However, even if we did not have the commentaries history itself is the best evidence. Comprised of “inputs, processes and outputs” we see the outcome of all that has unfolded, and there are only so many inputs and processes that create certain outputs. It is not that difficult to understand that if Jews are involved, their God cannot be far away.

It is also clear that God can use unbelievers for His purpose. I am sure that Xerxes had the mistaken notion that he was the supreme ruler and the only guy in charge. Of course, he couldn’t have been more deluded. At some point every knee will bend and every heart will bow to the One God, Yahweh. I think Esther knew that ...

We cannot deliver ourselves the voice God gave me

Isaiah 44:20 He feeds on ashes. [His] deceived mind has led him astray, and he cannot deliver himself, or say, "Isn't there a lie in my right hand?"

Idol worship is of no value and it has no value. In the same way one might take a pile of ashes, a burnt piece of wood, and worship it, Isaiah reminds us that the one who worships a false god has been deceived. While the ancients had rituals which they believed would give a piece of wood its voice, a burnt piece of wood is just a pile of ashes and cannot offer a relationship nor can it speak truth.

If a pile of ashes speaks, (and it is not reconstituted or reanimated by God Himself) then it is the Devil speaking. The deceived worshipper cannot deliver himself and has only succeeded in opening himself up to the wiles of theAdversary. Truly, you are holding a lie in your right hand: man does not form a god; God forms a man.

Worship only the Living God, Yahweh!
