meditations for an everyday relationship with Jesus
Grace part 2
Deuteronomy 21:22-23 “If anyone is found guilty of an offense deserving the death penalty and is executed, and you hang his body on a tree, you are not to leave his corpse on the tree overnight but are to bury him that day, for anyone hung [on a tree] is under God's curse. You must not defile the land the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance.”

This is what Jesus did to be a propitiation for our sin: he was hung on a tree like a common criminal and received the full measure of God’s curse, His wrath, and His justice!
What we deserved Jesus took in our stead. What we do not deserve Jesus offers us without condition.
He is the Lamb and we are the lions who even today feast upon His flesh when we take communion. Thank you, Jesus!
Of God
3 John 1:11 Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. The one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God.
It is clear. The one who is good does good because he imitates God; and the one who does evil is imitating Satan. We imitate what we are in love with. It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that is indeed true, then it is also the strongest signal regarding the eternal condition of your heart.
However, doing good is not enough to get you into heaven. Only a relationship with Jesus opens that door.
