Only a vapor?
Psalm 39:5-6 You, indeed, have made my days short in length, and my life span as nothing in Your sight. Yes, every mortal man is only a vapor. Selah Certainly, man walks about like a mere shadow. Indeed, they frantically rush around in vain, gathering possessions without knowing who will get them.

Day two with the word “vapor” in the conversation. This is not to diminish but to give us hope, and a perspective, on the brevity of our lives.
Brevity and vapor suggest something fleeting that must be captured while it is still visible or present. In this way we are urged to consider Christ in the moment if we have not yet given our lives over to Him.
You would think that with billions of us living such short and chaotic lives that God would (or could) easily overlook us in the same way we overlook the ants at our feet or the gnats in the evening air.
But He does not … He notices; He weeps with us, laughs with us and feels our pain and desperation. As God pays particular attention to the sparrow and the withering blades of grass, He pays eben greater attention to those created in His image. Selah ...
