HOW TO PAY FOR COLLEGE

How to Check the Status of your Financial Aid Application (FAFSA)

• Log on to MyREYNOLDS to access the Student

Information System (SIS) • Click SIS then choose Student Center • Review your To Do List for any additional information that is needed by the Office of Financial Aid to complete the processing of your FAFSA. • Once your FAFSA is complete and you have been awarded, you can view your awards under View

Financial Aid under the Finances section. • Make sure to click on the appropriate aid year. For 2021-22, the aid year is 2022.

How to View Anticipated Aid in the Student Center

Click on the Account Inquiry link under the Finances section. This will bring you to the Account Summary page. Under the What I Owe box, click on the yellow bar that says CLICK HERE to see Pending Financial Aid Based on Actual Enrollment. This is the amount of aid you will receive based on the number of classes you are taking.

If anticipated Financial Aid is shown for the particular semester and is sufficient to cover your tuition and fee

balance in full, no action is required. Your classes will be held as long as the account balance does not exceed the anticipated aid for that particular semester. Account balances that occur from a shortage of semesteranticipated financial aid must be paid in full by Reynolds payment deadlines.

THIRD PARTY TUITION ASSISTANCE

Students may have an employer or other third-party sponsor, including external scholarships, be responsible for tuition expenses. For more about third-party tuition assistance visit reynolds.edu/businessoffice and click on Methods of Payment. For more questions, please email thirdparty@reynolds.edu.

Virginia 529

Students using a 529 plan to pay tuition and fees must complete the necessary Distribution Request and/or Student Verification forms with their Virginia529 plan administrator. These are the forms where the parent/ student designates Reynolds as the school they will attend.

How to View Tuition Balance in SIS

1. Scroll down to Personal Information. 2. Click User Preferences link. 3. Select “J. Sargeant Reynolds CC” from the

Institution dropdown. 4. Select “Credit” from the Academic Career dropdown. 5. Click the magnifying glass beside the Term. 6. Select the term and year for which you are enrolling. 7. Click the magnifying glass beside Aid Year. 8. Select the current financial aid year. 9. Click Save to keep the values. 10. Click Student Center from the drop-down menu, then click .

PAYMENT PLAN

Students who register for classes at Reynolds have the option to apply for the Nelnet Payment Plan, which allows students to break their tuition payment up into 2, 3, or 4 payments. The plan requires that students have a bank account or credit card for all transactions. A nonrefundable enrollment fee is also required.

OUT OF POCKET Online Payments

You may pay online for the current term via MyReynolds with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card, or an eCheck from a checking or savings account.

In Person Payments

Pay your tuition in person at any campus Business Office during regular office hours. You may pay in person with cash, check, money order or accepted credit cards (VISA, MasterCard & Discover).
