Author’s Note Hello! Luie Boone again! I believe you all know me and I have, previously, introduced my human family to you. Mom and I have had some quality time to work on our continuing magazine adventure. We have done further research and after many, many long hours, again, on both the computer and telephone, we have succeeded! We are now proud to present our 2nd volume of WAGGERS WELCOME. Please, again, note that each vacation destination is broken into four sections. First being an explanation on the location. Second is the description of the vacation rental our family will stay at. Each family member has their own sleeping quarters. Other amenities are, also, defined. I have added a personal saying to each description. Please enjoy my expressions of each place. The 3rd page remains devoted to each specific location with 3 dog-friendly activities, 1 dog-friendly eating place and 1 unique dog thing about the vacation spot. LUIE’S PET PEEVE ABOUT DURANGO A type of sheepdog, called Akbash, bred in Turkey to be especially fierce in the face of an enemy has been the focus of complaints from hikers and others here. (A number of ranchers graze sheep, here, under the guard of these dogs, and say that the loss of sheep to predators (bears, etc) has been cut by 60 to 70 percent since the dogs were introduced. Sheepdogs are instinctively protective and may seem ferocious but, if you turn toward them and speak when they bark, they may even wag their tails. I think everyone should just play nice! )

Just a short 20 mile drive, from Jacksonville, Florida, towards the historic Atlantic Coast, is the must-see, must-visit and must-play at dog-friendly, picturesque, ocean-side village of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Fido will race down, across the white sand beach, to the sparkling blue waters. Please watch out for 40-foot sand dunes! Just south of the beach, there are almost 10 miles of nature trails available for a dog fun filled walk that wanders thru wetlands, catching glimpses of wildlife which include deer, string rays, gators and all sorts of birds. (Even though the Police Department and the Animal Metro Control have doubts as they do not show that number of dogs reported as missing, the Humane Society does say that the number of missing dogs not returned to owners is rising. Please everyone work together to solve this issue.)
