NEW BUILD HOUSE IN MUSWELL HILL, NORTH LONDON

Works are about to start on site for a new build house in Muswell Hill, North London. Externally, the design was required by the planning department to replicate the existing Victorian street facade, including Flemish bond imperial bricks and clay mouldings. Contrasting with the traditional exterior, the clients want an interior that blends more contemporary finishes and details with subtle period features, in an open plan layout that can accommodate their collection of antique furniture. Built over four floors, the 320m2 house will incorporate energy saving features in the construction, including high levels of thermal insulation, triple glazed sash windows and low temperature under floor heating, providing a distinctive and sustainable new house within the conservation area.
