The Things that Keep You Motivated
var seo_sids = new Array();var seo_osids = new Array(); For a lot of people out there, work is just that: work. They keep their jobs because this is what sustains them on a monthly basis, but if they had a choice, they wouldn’t want to do what they’re doing. It’s not that they wish to be idle, but doing something else seems just too far-fetched. So, they continue with the usual drudgery of driving to the office, punching in, and doing what’s expected of them. They spend their days waiting for weekends to come, and come Sunday night, they’re dreading to go back to the usual five-day routine. This isn’t a way to live. In fact, this isn’t the way you need to work. You deserve to enjoy your life and find value in what you do. Sure, you can’t afford to just up and leave everything. After all, the economy won’t allow you to be irresponsible. Still, there is a way to make work pleasant. You owe it to yourself to show a little bit of effort. Staying in a job is more than just about passion. It’s actually enjoying what you do. Sometimes, you also have to bring a little bit of your personal life in the workplace. This means that it’s time for you to make friends with your colleagues. When you like the people you work with, work doesn’t have to be so tedious. That’s because you have someone to turn to when you feel like venting out all your frustrations. Plus, you create a better work environment when you actually get along with the people you work with. So, get yourself out there and bond with them on your lunch or coffee breaks. Make this a healthy relationship by inspiring each other to do better. Share tips and secrets. More importantly, set aside some time to just laugh when you start to feel stressed. Make work fun. This doesn’t mean that you goof off. In fact, never do this because you’re only going to get yourself in trouble. Rather, elicit positive vibes. Create some healthy competition. You can do this by arranging free dinner for those who meet the quota. If you want, you can even set aside one night per week where you all get together after work to bond and do nothing. These will make for good stories when you see each other for work the very next day. At the same time, you also need to let them know that they can approach you any time and that you can be a great friend as well. There will be times that you’re going to be left disappointed. This happens to everyone. No matter what industry you’re in, you will have some good days as well as bad. Let every experience be a teacher, but most important of all is that you know your strengths. Talk about your achievements with each other and see how you can help pull the group forward. At the end of the day, it’s all about the company’s success, and that can happen when everyone learns to work together.
