Zombie process

Page 1

Nothing sends the message to your enemy that he has not fully understood the situation on the battlefield--a tactician’s greatest sin-like zombies unexpectedly tapping their rear guard on the shoulder and eating their brains.

THE PROPOSAL

CANDYLAND - Created in 1949, by Eleanor Abbott - Consists of 134 spaces, in a pattern color scheme ( yellow, red, blue, green, orange & purple) - Bought by Hasbro and published in 1949 - As the name would suggest, it based around a land created of candy, sweets and other dessert type foods. - Has unique and illustrative characters with bright colors to keep children interested. - Is a game for all ages, but only used by elementary age (4-11), parents (25-40) and grandparents ( 65-90) - Is a random selection game with no thought or stragtagy needed. - Spaces are gained through selection of cards (now a spinner) which also have select ones with places along the board ( Jolly, Peppermint Forsest, Queen Frostine)

CHANGES

- Along with characters illustrations, enviroments for both board and characters is illustrated.

- Theme change from candy to postapocolyptic zombie terrain - Introduction of zombies, safe houses, and surivors to replace the brightly colored characters of old. - Introduction of new color scheme - Advanced age usage --Instead of losing the user after age of 11 till the age of 25, we can keep them playing the “same game by using less childish idea and more popular themes. e.x. Zombies - Lengthening of board to allow chances for last minute wins and complete set-backs keeping user playing longer. - Change from candy type face to more appropriate typeface

SKETCHES AND ROUGHS

The creation of the illustrattions was one that was truly based off the zombie drawing and was then expanded to build upon the look as if the zombie was not decomposing. In this way I felt that I held the total theme a land now inhabitated by the undead. By starting with the main focus and then “re-animating them to completely the suriviors versus the zombies ideology.

DIGITALIZE AND COLOR

BACKGROUNDS

The backgrounds themselves are made to add to the characters and give each one somewhat of a backstory even if there is no actual writiing about what is their true backstory. I wanted to add more depth to the characters without detracting from their overall being.

CREATION OF BOARD

The board itself was a place where I found the difficulty of staying true to the orginal while also having to add a darker twist due to my topic in which I aimed to take the board. This was accomplished through the tracing of the late 1950’s boards spaces, and addition fo my own color scheme for the spaces colors.
