RATIONALE Public speaking as the language of the global community, has found prominent place in the lives of people especially the public officials. Learning good public speaking has been considered as an imperative for school learning per se, where they use it to learn and to foster a critical understanding and appreciation on how they give speech to every gathering and activity they attended. While others consider speaking in front of hundred of people a difficult task there is hope in mastering the skills requires. One needs proper orientation and self-confidence for every move they make, adlibs, quotations from famous people especially gestures,body language, proper diction as well as eye contact. So they need to learn all of these elements to become an effiecient and effective speaker. Well meaning barangay officials need an expertise in their field of endeavor especially when they are on duty. Some expert public official have oftentimes assailed the deterioration of the essence of public speaking , they lay behind in their speaking skills as their passport to step up on a pedestal. They fail to speak excellently. The reason is not their lack of knowledge and confidence but their inability to express themselves in clear and understandable words and enunciation/pronounciation. Barangays being one of the basic unit of society can be globally competitive, we can start success from here. Individual should posse’s competence in public speaking as their road to good communication. The goal of this project is to produce competent Barangay officials as globally competetive individuals, speakers and communicator. The mission of this project is to use resources and to acquire good public speaking techniques as a weapon to fight all challenges in life. These addresses the University mission of helping build a resilient and sustainable communities. Likeiwise, the proposed training also adheres with the 17 sustainable development goals which is on peace, justice and strong insitutions and partnership for the goals. The program is intended for them as it answers the learning needs of people in the community who do not intend to learn public speaking and follow the rigidities and rigors of formal public speaking. It alo aims to dedicate to people who want to improve their comunication skills on their own, at their own pace at their most convenient time. Objectives At the end of the 5-day training course, all participants should be able to: 1.Prepare and Deliver a speech 2.Conduct a meeting 3. Present an agenda Expected 1. All participants acquired KSA on public speaking Output 2. Prepared and delivered speech 3. Conduct meeting and present agenda 4. Utilize public speaking techniques in everyday communication
