Introduces newcomers to the community. ISIP Settlement Practitioners help participants choose community and social activities that best suit the participants’ interests and settlement needs. The We Volunteer Here program provides newcomers group volunteering opportunities in the community. Participants meet other volunteers, build social and professional networks, gain Canadian work and volunteer experience, and practice English with friendly and professional staff.

Volunteers provide free and confidential emotional support and referral information to those who feel lonely or in despair because of unemployment, family conflict, problems with adapting to local culture, or other problems. LINC Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada 604-638-9881 ext. 1
Facilitates the integration of newcomers into Canadian culture and society by providing basic and intermediate level English training for eligible adult newcomers to Canada. LINC is government funded and is free for learners. Permanent residents, convention refugees, protected persons, live-in caregivers, and persons with a letter of confirmation to become a permanent resident from IRCC are eligible for the LINC program.

Assists new immigrant and their family learn about Canada’s systems and services. ISIP Richmond assists newcomers settle into their local B.C. communities by offering opportunities to develop English language skills, learn about Canada’s labour market, and to network and develop professional and social networks. Permanent residents, convention refugees, protected persons, live-in caregivers, and persons with a letter of confirmation to become a permanent resident from IRCC are eligible for ISIP’s free services. Services are offered in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Korean, Japanese, and Tagalog.

ISIP Online offers free online settlement services on your computer or mobile device. Eligible new immigrant can also access one-to-one information session, webinars, language training and employment courses. Service is ideal for busy job seekers, people with family responsibilities or those living in remote areas of BC. In order to qualify for services, you must be a permanent resident, a convention refugee, a protected person, a live-in caregiver, or you must have received a letter of confirmation to become a PR from IRCC.
