READING 5
Are you interested in fashion? The 19th century Uncomfortable garments, incredibly tight corsets and huge skirts were in fashion. These pieces of clothing were so tight that women couldn’t sit down or eat.
The 20th century The 60’s
The 50’s
Mini skirts were trendy and were shorter than those from the 50’s. Boys wore tighter pants and very short hair.
Fashion was influenced by idols including Elvis Presley and James Dean. Boys wore black leather jackets and jeans. Girls wore circular or pleated skirts.
The 70’s
The 80’s
Clothes became brighter and more colorful.
High heels were a must. Jeans became mandatory for young people.
The 90’s Fashion became more democratic. It was more and more common to see people wearing neutral colors, trench coats and a lot of black clothes. Accessories, zippers and buckles that shape the body were in. Turtlenecks and glasses gave a heavy look in a world where survival was the main concern.
The 21st century Fibers and intelligent cloths transform fashion and the way people get dressed. Chemists and stylists meet and try to design an elegant world in which being comfortable and practical pleases modern people.
