The Rockville Centre Fire Department was organized in 1875. Today it has over 325 volunteer members.

South Side High School opened in 1892 at the site of what is now Village Hall.

According to the 2020 U.S. Census, Rockville Centre is home to 25,814 residents.

In 1926 Hempstead Lake State Park was formed.

Central Synagogue of Nassau County was formed in 1935.

The most recent census also shows that 1,023 veterans reside in the village.
