INTRODUCTION BY ARTISTIC DIRECTOR MARGRÉT ÖRNÓLFSDÓTTIR Wednesday October 6th. 08:30 - 09:00 @ HANNESARHOLT ABOUT MARGRÉT ÖRNÓLFSDÓTTIR Margrét is one of the most prominent screenwriters in Iceland, primarily known for the musical feature Regina and TV series Fangar (aka Prisoners), Trapped 2 and The Flatey Enigma. She is a composer and has written a long list of soundtracks for films and theatre. In 1988–1992 Margrét was the keyboard player of the renowned pop band The Sugarcubes. Few words from Margrét! People gather together for many different reasons – to have fun, to meet friends and family, to meet strangers, to network and make new friends, to dance and get drunk (or dance sober or simply get drunk), to exchange information, to discuss issues, to be inspired, to solve problems, to cause trouble... the list goes on perpetually. We’re going to spend a week together in Reykjavík and we can do all of that. And more. Or less. In other words, you may have different reasons for partaking in The Talent Lab, but it proves that you are searching and seeking new experience (experiment?) – the key ingredient for forward motion and the road to discovery. Hopefully the tightly knit and action packed program, bustling with interesting talks and events and activities will meet your aspirations, or even better, exceed them. I’m looking very much forward to getting to know all of you and working with you, so be very welcome and let’s have a lot of fun!
