Alfie

An ordinary boy who lives with his dad in a suburb – somewhere in the world. He’s not big. He’s not strong. And he doesn’t fight either! He’s happy and mischievous but can also be jealous, crank and afraid of ghosts.

Malcom

Tis is Malcolm! He is Alfie’s secret friend who shows up whenever Alfie wants him to... He is so secret that no one but Alfie can see him. And you, of course! Perhaps you have a secret friend as well?

Daddy

Alfie’s dad – Daddy Atkins – is named Bertil. He is a litle scaterbrained and maybe a bit lazy. He likes to watch TV and read the newspaper. But sometimes he forgets that he is a grown-up and invents games and mischief with Alfie.

Milly

Tis is Milly. She is Victor’s cousin and Alfie’s friend and she can do all sorts of fun things... funny faces, building forts, playing circus. And she has a heart of GOLD!

Victor

Victor is Alfie’s friend. Alfie loves having a real friend! But sometimes they disagree! When they both want the BIGGEST bun... or fight over who gets to be the train conductor. Sometimes they are so upset with each other that they never want to play together again! But they still do, of course. Tey’re friends afer all!

Sissel is Alfie’s cat. A prety white cat who en lies purring on Alfie’s lap. Sometimes Sissel doesn’t want to stay on his lap and crawls under the bed to hide instead. Sissel does as Sissel wants. Not quite exactly as e wants. Sissel can also turn into a great roaring lion. But that’s only in Alfie’s imagination. Or is it...?

Grandma’s name is Sally! She’s happy and kind, and never in a hurry. She likes playing games with Alfie and always has cakes and cookies ready when Alfie comes to visit...

Aunt Fifi is Alfies dad’s sister. She has no kids of her own, but she’s always extra kind to Alfie. Aunt Fifi likes to arrange big celebrations and parties.
