Meeting Minutes ~ February 16, 2017 Attendance: Garrett Shaver, Geoff Pashkowski, Corey Bruggeman, Kent Hendricks, Patrick de Haan, Karen Ingersoll, Mike Chasan MIA: TRS members - Ben Eubank, Dona Eubank, Larry Horton, Billy Wilkinson, Susan Wilkinson, and CXR member Corey Harris
Discussion: Rio Macaw Official Club Mascot
Ben and Larry both texted Pat to let him know they’d be absent.
Ben and Dona are Stay-cationing at the Princess Resort in Scottsdale – there was some discussion about moving the meeting there so they wouldn’t miss out. As in, just showing up at their door. Lol!
Pat will be in Payson next week for the Christmas program, working with PDG Glenn Smith. They’ll be serving about 1,100 PK – 5th Grade students. This is virtually every elementary school child in the entire Payson area. Awesome!
Pat had a fantastic fund raising idea! Running with the Bulls – but using inflatable Bull costumes. Potential sponsors could be Tex Earnhardt or Red Bull. (REALLY quiet meeting compared to last week!)
Happy $:
1. Is it the TRUTH? 2. Is it FAIR to All Concerned? 3. Will it Build GOODWILL and Better Friendships? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to All Concerned? 5. Is it FUN?
Kent – nothing special, just happy. Enjoyed participating with CXR at Maggie’s Place last week.
Mike – great week, really on track with work.
Karen – Business going really well and life is great!
Pat – put in a $1 (grumble) for Ben, Larry, and Corey H. not being here today.
Corey – Business is good, went to the car show in Fountain Hills.
Geoff – happy to be here.
Garrett – happy to be here.
“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” - Leonardo da Vinci
Attendance: Serena Christianson – CXR ● Christina Ratto - CXR ● Charissa Dantas - CXR ● Molly Zimmerman - CXR ● Heather Biladeau - CXR ● Steven - CXR ● Tara - friend of CXR ● Michael - friend of CXR UPDATES:
Serena met with Gary Law from Tempe South to discuss the topic of international projects. Gary has committed to being the liaison between CXR and Tempe South. He’ll be our resource to help us learn more about how to participate in these types of projects. Serena made it clear to him that participating is more of a priority than fundraising, and he will leverage his resources to help us find projects that we can help with. He did mention a Polio vaccination trip in San Felipe Mexico, and that could be something CXR could participate in. More updates to come.
Rotary Club Leadership Academy will be held on April 22. CLA will feature incredible workshops and classes that will give you the knowledge to supercharge your club. More info and registration details here: https://www.123signup.com/register?id=ndpnk
Corey and Molly will attend the district grant training on February 23.
Serena asked if anyone else is still interested in attending the international conference in Atlanta June 10-14 or district conference in Flagstaff June 22-24. The opportunities are still available, so contact her if you want to attend. Cool update: Bill Gates will be speaking at RI! CXR will pay for your registration if you can attend.
