Initiated in 2013 and funded by a Clean Communities Grant, JCMAP links established and emerging local, national and international mural artists with property owners city-wide as part of an innovative beautification program that reduces graffiti, engages local residents and is transforming Jersey City into an outdoor art gallery.

Join us as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Jersey City Art & Studio Tour, New Jersey’s premier art event featuring more than 800 local artists. This year’s tour has grown to include 220 stops throughout Jersey City at galleries, exhibition spaces, and murals, showcasing the vibrant cultural landscape that is Jersey City. From the Heights, to Greenville, to Downtown, to the West Side, to Bergen Lafayette and Journal Square, Jersey City’s cultural scene continues to expand and diversify. Support our local artists by visiting their exhibits and purchasing their work, and engage with your neighbors during one of the biggest annual art events in the region. It’s an event you don’t want to miss!

Mayor Steven M. Fulop

On Saturday, Oct. 3, you can see highlights of the JCAST, on free bike tours run by community bike advocacy group Bike JC. Featuring one long tour, hitting the biggest group shows, and two shorter tours canvasing the southern and northern halves of the city, all rides will include fly-by viewings of our city’s growing collection of public art including the Jersey City Mural Arts Program! Our focus will be on venues less accessible to the casual stroller—better by bike! Tours will be led by experienced bike marshals. To join, just show up on the plaza outside Grove St. PATH station at least 15 minutes before the tour begins. First come, first served—each tour will be capped at 30 riders! All tours will return riders to Grove PATH (or you can peel off anywhere else along the way). Visit bikejc.org for more information.
