The Del-Satins are an American vocal group, most active in the early 1960s, who recorded on their own, but are best remembered for
their harmonies on hit records for Dion and others. They have been described as having “few peers as practitioners of harmony and Doo-Wop.”
The group was formed in 1958 in Manhattan, New York, through a merger of two existing street corner groups, the Yorkville Melodies and the Jokers. The original members were teenagers. They chose the name Del-Satins as a tribute to The Dells and The Five Satins.
Wednesday, August 2: The Chiclettes
The Chiclettes perform music from The Supremes to Chaka Khan, Lesley Gore to Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin to The Pointer Sisters. The Chiclettes will get you moving with their highenergy tribute to female artists through the decades! Performing hit
after hit, they remind us of these artists’ remarkable contributions to pop music through the years. Wherever they perform, the combination of energetic talent and live renderings of some of the greatest songs ever recorded always leaves a lasting impression

With the dynamic lead vocals of Robert Santa, we will surely please Bruce fans everywhere! In addition, the Saints are musicians who have a wealth of live & touring experience, that includes bassist Johnny Pisano (Willie
Nile, Blushing Brides), keyboardist Matt Kutner and multi-instrumentalist Joey Dellacroce (Camber). The group has performed throughout the Northeast in venues such as, The Park Theater, Courthouse Center For The Arts, District Center For The Arts, BB King’s, The Stone Pony, The Wonder Bar, and numerous other venues and festivals.
Wednesday, August 9: Here’s Elton!
Capturing all of the sights, sounds and excitement of a live Elton John show, “Here’s ELTON” performs Elton’s hits spanning his amazing career as well as Elton’s cover versions of songs by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, Aretha Franklin and much Cont’d on page 8
THANK YOU FOR VOTING!
To everyone that got out and voted in the June 6th election, an enthusiastic thank you from me personally for making your voices heard.
I wish Commissioner Kenneth Kopacz the best in his role representing Bayonne at the county level. I do hope he engages with the residents of his district and brings forward solutions to problems affecting our community.
I will continue to advocate for more senior housing, improvements to pedestrian safety, and many other quality of life issues that affect the residents and business owners of Bayonne. Positive change takes time and taking a stance is hard. I'm reminded of a saying my Pop-pop loved; 'Behold the turtle: He only makes progress when he sticks his neck out'. Thanks to those that stuck their necks out.

Kurt Vile, July 20, White Eagle Hall
By Alan SculleyIt’s nothing new to hear an artist say his latest album is a career-best effort. But that statement seems to ring true when Kurt Vile says “Watch My Moves” is probably the best representation of him that’s been captured on any of his albums.
“I stand by all of my albums, but I think I just know that (on “Watch My Moves”) when I hear my vocal, it just feels like I’m in the room. It just cuts right through,” Vile said. “And I’m not like, I’m not trying to prove anything. I’ve kind of just lived my life up to this point. I know what I’m capable of and I also know that songs, they just fall into my brain and out of my guitar. I just know how to sort of capture them. Some
are more solid than others, but my idea was to put all the best (new) songs that I had so far on this record and I did my best version of that I could.”
Stylistically, “Watch My Moves” isn’t far afield from Vile’s other albums. Like his other albums, new songs such as “Like Exploding Stones” and “Mount Airy Hill (Way Gone)” share a similar hazy quality and fall somewhere between rock, folk and pop, while “Jesus on a Wire” and “Cool Water” offer a more delicate and straightforward pop/folk sound. Overall, “Watch My Moves” doesn’t hit you in the face with hooks or power chords; instead, it’s fairly laid back, with melodic nuggets and ear
More
worms that tend to reveal themselves and deliver more impact with subsequent listens.
One development that Vile thinks helped “Watch My Moves” was for the first time he had a fully functioning home studio in which to work, and about half of the album was recorded there.
In a sense, this represents a return to Vile’s creative roots. His 2008 debut album “Constant Hitmaker” and 2009 follow-up “God Is Saying This to You…” were
made up mainly of home recordings, before he moved on to making the five full-length albums that have followed in proper studios.
Vile sees “Watch My Moves” as a return to his home recording ways (where he feels more free creatively than in a typical studio environment), albeit with the ability to attain professional fidelity sound when he wants.
“I’m trying to get back to my roots, for sure, in that way, with my guard fully down, but more high
fidelity when desired, more professional, all of those things combined. I think I captured all of that (on “Watch My Moves”), but it’s still pretty raw. So it’s a little bit of everything.”
