DAY 2 – Valley of the Temples We visit the stunning Greek remains in the Valley of the Temples – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The best of them, Concordia, is similar to the Parthenon in Athens. We enjoy a guided tour and you can also enter the excellent museum. Later we visit Agrigento, where the
medieval atmosphere seeps into the tiny streets and shady piazzas. (B,D) + Included Experience – Guided tour of the Valley of the Temples DAY 3 – Palermo & Monreale This morning we drive to Palermo, the capital city of Sicily, with its magnificent domed cathedral dating from the 10th century. After some free time to explore Palermo, we travel to the hilltop town of Monreale for a guided tour of another cathedral, one of the finest examples of Norman architecture. On our guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage Site you’ll see the remains of pastel-coloured frescoes on the walls and stunning mosaics. For lunch we’ll call at a traditional ‘agriturismo’ restaurant in the hilly countryside. We’ll enjoy authentic Sicilian food from the farm on-site,
