Your itinerary DAY 1 – Arrival in Bruges Take the late morning/early afternoon Eurostar service from London St Pancras International to Lille. On arrival, we transfer by coach to your hotel for three nights in Bruges’ old town. This evening we enjoy a welcome dinner at a nearby restaurant to get to know your fellow travellers. (D) DAY 2 – Walking tour of Bruges We enjoy a guided walk to discover the highlights of this alluring city, starting in its medieval heart, the Markt, which has served as the main market square since the 10th century. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore. The Groeninge museum and Sint-Jans hospitaal are home to sublime works of art and you can find museums dedicated to Belgium’s holy trinity of beer, chocolate and frites. (B) + Included Experience – Guided walking tour of Bruges DAY 3 – Ypres, Passchendaele & Tyne Cot Cemetery This morning, you can choose to explore Bruges at leisure, or take an

optional included excursion that visits the locations made famous during World War I – Ypres, the centre of British activity in Belgium and home of the Menin Gate, a moving memorial to the missing. The excursion also takes us to the Passchendaele Museum for an insightful recreation of life in the trenches and concludes with a poignant visit to Tyne Cot Cemetery. We will return to Bruges, where there will be an opportunity to gather with our travelling companions for a final evening sampling some of the wonderful Flemish food. Returning to Bruges in the late afternoon, you cannot fail to be touched by the sights and sounds of this unforgettable trip back in time. (B) + Included Experience – Visit Ypres, Passchendaele and Tyne Cot Cemetery DAY 4 – Return by Eurostar We visit one of the few establishments in Bruges where Belgian chocolates are still made by hand for a demonstration. Later, a coach returns you to nearby Lille for an afternoon Eurostar service back to London St Pancras International. (B) + Included Experience – Visit to a Chocolatier
