THE COLLECTIVE

COMMON

Conceived as a hybrid prototype multi-residential development, it combines the traditional terrace/ row house typology common in Melbourne with typical urban dwelling of apartment living. The development builds upon the idea of co-housing where the development retains individual private home ownership while fostering community relationship and sense of neighbourhood through shared spaces and multiuse common facilities.

Port Melbourne is demographically inclined towards young professionals, growing young families and independent elderly citizens. These groups typically have different housing and social requirements which creates fractured housing options in the market. In consequence this creates social isolation and decrease affordability as developers generalised these requirements to fit a larger spectrum of buyers.

LOCALITY

The development offers myriad of housing options 700m catering typical contemporary lifestyle as well as Proximity to CBD and Port Melbourne sea front as well as surrounding alternative home-sharing opportunities. amenities; for leisure and work.
