The Answers on Demand© (AOD) Electronic Health Record (EHR), Financial, Billing/AR, Materials and Marketing software module implementations are officially completed. Thank you to everyone for making this phase of the Enterprise Project such a success! The modules are now part of the business resources and will continue to be monitored for quality utilization. What is Quality Utilization? User Groups are being formed for ongoing communication and training opportunities to ensure that we are getting the most out of the AOD software. Participants will be from all three of our operating entities with one leader for each group. Who are the User Group Leaders? • Elaine Dyer – Electronic Health Record • Randy Crosby – Marketing • Marg Rettler – Materials • Gracie Hora/Bao Xiong – Financial & Billing/AR Who are the Key Clinical Contacts? • Karen Yust – Chai Point • Cara Hesse – Jewish Home • Elena Kleynerman/Deb Johnson – Sarah Chudnow

What Do the User Group Leaders and Key Contacts Do? The User Group Leaders will be scheduling monthly meetings for the groups and securing the room, sending invitations, canvassing participants for agenda items, setting the agenda, and finding someone to take notes. The Key Clinical Contacts are the subject matter experts who will be the first resource for CNAs, Nurses and other users to reach out to for assistance. They will also bring agenda items to the User Group Leaders from their interactions with staff. How will the User Groups Sustain the Quality of the System? The User Group Leaders will be submitting quarterly reports to the Executive Management Team summarizing the accomplishments of the groups for the quarter, what the goals are for the groups for the next quarter, and what challenges they face. AOD will continue to perform quarterly utilization review processes and work with the User Groups to sustain and enhance the quality of the system. Did I Hear There is a Celebration Planned? There is a celebration in the works. Stay tuned for more information on what it will entail!

Have you made your bed comfortable? Do you use the bedroom only for sleeping and not for other activities, such as reading, watching TV, or using the computer? Do you avoid large meals before bedtime? http://www.cdc.gov

Purim 101

Can I Quote You On That?

Purim, or the Feast of Lots, is a joyous holiday that recounts the saving of the Jews from a threatened massacre during the Persian period (539-330 BCE). The story of Purim is recounted in the Book of Esther, whose eponymous heroine plays the leading role in saving her people. The holiday is traditionally celebrated with wild abandon and with the giving of gifts to friends and the poor.

We are in need of new quotes to use on our websites! If you have something you would like to say about Chai Point, Jewish Home and Care Center, or Sarah Chudnow Community, whether about the experience of living and working here, the food, the activities, or just in general, we want to hear from you. Please email comments to rloss@jewishseniorliving.org or visit the Mar/Com office on the B level of Chai Point. You will find a form there to fill out.

Purim is a community holiday of joyful celebration. However, there are a number of activities that are centered in the home. One of the favorite activities in preparation for the holiday is the baking of hamantaschen, the triangular filled pastries that are the traditional food at Purim. In addition, following the commandment to give gifts to friends and the poor, the preparation of so-called mishloah manot baskets is a fun activity to engage in, as is their distribution on the holiday.

Quotes will be used on different pages throughout the websites, and changed periodically.

Core Value/Guiding Principle: Integrity We conduct ourselves with integrity by faithfully adhering to our guiding principles.

The centerpiece of the communal celebration is the reading of the Scroll of Esther, the Megillah, in the synagogue. Another tradition is the Purim shpiel, the Purim play, during which fun is poked at community leaders and members. Purim has often been called the Jewish carnival, and dressing in costume and taking part in a Purim carnival heighten the levity of the occasion, on which one is encouraged to engage in activities that at other times of the year would be somewhat more restricted in scope, such as drinking.
