Team members embraced the opportunity to recognize successes and interact with each other and the leadership team. Post-it notes were also available to list accomplishments and achievements during the first part of 2019. Delicious snacks, hors d’oeuvres, and sparkling apple juice (to celebrate our successes) were served.

I always make it my mission to meet my commitments, to see a project or task through to the end and to be proud of the results. For all of us, there are times when things don’t turn out as anticipated, but the key is to take full accountability, learn and work even harder to produce the desired outcome. What Can ITAM Do For You? Have you met our IT Asset Management (ITAM) team? Steph, Mark, and Matt are primarily at the Anthony Avenue location, and they are committed to living the ITAM mission statement: minimize risk and maximize value! In 2018, this team acquired 20,452 new assets from 826 purchase orders, with 146 active vendors and 112 active support contracts. So what can ITAM do for you? ANTHING related to hardware or software! Do you have a new vendor or a new product you’re looking at? Maybe we have a similar product already in use, or maybe we have a preferred vendor that can provide the same product or service. Do you want to plan for new hardware for your team, or upgrade a critical piece of software? Maybe you are thinking about removing a piece of software, but you aren’t sure about the compliance terms. We can plan out the entire process, and communicate with all parties to maintain appropriate compliance.
We can help you work through all the IT requirements, bring in networking resources, or plan for new equipment to be rolled out with the Help Desk. We are working with the Legal team,
with the Cybersecurity team, and with Finance to make sure things go as smoothly as possible for whatever project we are involved in. Plus, the ITAM team maintains all the paperwork, and does all the administrative effort, so you can focus on what you need to do. We’ll contact you when your contract is coming due, and we can engage an account manager if things with support aren’t going so well. We are so excited for what 2019 will bring to SKYGEN USA! Reach out to ITAM@skygenusa.com to get started!

Picnic-ing at Port Rd. ICYMI: Tuesday, April 23, was National Picnic Day! Port Rd decided to celebrate this food-inspired holiday with, you guessed it, a picnic! The Port Picnic spread included sandwich fixings, chips, fruit, lemonade, desserts, and other assorted picnic goodies. A few team members took advantage of the sunshine and “warm” spring weather and enjoyed their picnic lunch outside. By the way, April 23 is also National Talk Like Shakespeare Day, National Take a Chance Day, and National Cherry Cheesecake Day.
The History of Mother’s Day The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in West Virginia. Anna’s mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis, was a peace activist who cared for wounded soldiers during the Civil War and created Mother's Day Work Clubs to address public health issues. Anna Jarvis wanted to honor her mother by continuing her work and creating a day to honor mothers because she believed a mother is "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world.” By 1911 all US states observed the holiday, with some of them officially recognizing Mother's Day as a local holiday (the first being West Virginia in 1910). In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating Mother's Day, held on the second Sunday in May, as a national holiday to honor mothers.
“Lucky to Have You” FUNraiser In mid-March, SKYGEN USA held a St. Patrick’s Day FUNraiser. It was an opportunity to let co-workers they are appreciated AND raise money for the SKYGEN USA Foundation. Candy bars were available for $1 to let a coworker that we’re “lucky to have you!” During the week-long FUNraiser, 975 candy bars were sold and $411 raised for the SKYGEN USA Foundation. Thanks again for your SKYGENerousity. We’re lucky to have all of you!
