T
he race between incumbent Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney and Republican challenger Nan Hayworth for New York’s 18th congressional district is one of the most heavily scrutinized and closely watched in the nation. Voters are encouraged to attend the August Contact Breakfast on Wednesday, August 20 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Conference Center to hear from both candidates in a closed forum. Questions for the moderator may be submitted in advance by e-mailing Howard Lynne, the Chamber’s Volunteer Government Liaison, at howard@dcrcoc.org. Maloney is currently serving his first term in Congress following his election in November 2012. Prior to election, Maloney worked as an attorney and private equity executive as well as serving as White House Staff Secretary and a senior advisor to President Bill Clinton. Maloney is a graduate of the University of Virginia and cur-
rently resides in Cold Spring. Hayworth previously served the Hudson Valley as a member of the 112th Congress from 2011-13 where she sat on the House Financial Services Committee. An ophthalmologist by trade, Hayworth is a graduate of Princeton University and a 26-year resident of the Hudson Valley. TD Bank proudly sponsors the
