Upon taking office, he sought to create a comprehensive economic development strategy, one that more aggressively attracts and retains private sector companies and jobs. Since 2012, Marc and his administration have transformed the way County Government does business – making it smaller, smarter, and more effective. Marc has been leader on Open Space Protection and Farmland Preservation, an advocate to preserve the Hudson River Valley Greenway and a supporter of the Greenway Compact. In 2015, Marc launched “Think Differently,” an initiative to ensure equal access
and service, along with greater outreach, to those living with special needs and developmental disabilities. Now, nearly 100 communities across New York are implementing the “Think Differently” principles. Marshall & Sterling Insurance is proud to sponsor the March Contact Breakfast. Celebrating 155 years in business, Marshall & Sterling is a full-service insurance, benefits and risk management agency headquartered in the City of Poughkeepsie. Business After Hours returns to network at the CIA

njoy gourmet hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar all while networking at the Culinary Institute of America in the Marriott Pavilion for the next Business After Hours on Wednesday, March 27 from 5-7 PM. This complimentary event is sponsored by TEG Federal Credit Union and the New York State Bridge Authority. Pre-registration is requested. To RSVP, visit dcrcoc. org or call 845.454.1700, x 1000. The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) is widely recognized as the world’s premier culinary college. Their industry-wide reputation for excellence is evidenced by their outstanding faculty, passion-
ate students, and more than 50,000 accomplished alumni across more than seven decades. TEG Federal Credit traces its origin to 1969, when teachers from the Wappingers Central school district decided to create an alternative to the banks they had been using. Desiring a financial institution that would provide fair and equitable treatment, they successfully chartered the Wappingers Central Federal Credit Union. Over the years, membership expanded; first offering the benefits of credit union membership to the government workers of Dutchess County and then, in 2002, offering service all who live, work, worship or attend school in New York’s Dutchess, Or-
ange and Ulster counties. With their expansion, the credit union’s name changed to Taconic Educational and Governmental Federal Credit Union, or TEG Federal Credit Union as they are known by today. The New York State Bridge Authority was born out of the necessity for a bridge over the Hudson River which would link the city of Hudson and the village of Catskill. On March 31, 1932, Governor Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into law a bill
sponsored by Greene County Assemblyman Ellis Bentley that created the Bridge Authority as an entity that would issue toll revenue bonds to pay for what would become the Rip Van Winkle Bridge. The New York State Bridge Authority has been selfsufficient throughout its more than seventy-five year history, operating without Federal or State tax monies and reinvesting toll revenues to continue to maintain and improve these vital Hudson River Crossings.
