Reflection On Country has been a captivating experience and has provided a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the Kirrae Whurrung culture and country which will continue to be built upon. The challenges faced during the studio centred around the lack of well documented research into Victorian aboriginal communities. This lead to trouble finding information and resources that were specific enough to the task at hand. This reiterates the importance of future/current designers needing to focus more upon the local indigenous cultures of the Australia when designing. This shift is required to reverse the trend of lack of documentation and allow for these ancient Australian cultures to be preserved. The main weakness experienced during the final project was the extent of research into particular areas. Instead of latching onto the first strong idea, more time should have been allocated to further research precedents. For example the overall form in the mid semester presentation lacked depth and was instead somewhat monotonous. The primary strength within this folio was the ability to integrate multiple references or precedents into the one broad exploration. Instead of focusing on one particular reference multiple precedents were able to be compounded to strengthen the overall outcome.
