Swan Hill District Health May 2019 Swan Hill District Health - Sub-acute care services is a 2.6 Million dollar investment, delivering new sub-acute facilities, including 14 beds; transitional care beds, and palliative care beds. The new development all Swan Hill District Health to now provide increased general inpatient rehabilitation services, multidisciplinary management of elderly patients, and the latest in perioperative medical equipment. Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital May 2019 Previously the Sunshine Hospital, has been transformed into the new $2000 million Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital to meet the demand for world-class maternity, and pediatric services in Melbourne’s West. This facility gives families better access to child services, closer to home, featuring 39 special care nursery cots, and 32 children inpatient beds. The hospital further accommodates 20 delivery rooms, and 64 women’s inpatient beds. This project was delivered by the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority. Mildura Base Hospital intensive care unit expansion June 2019 The expansion of Milura Base Hospital intense care unit, is a $2.47 million investment delivering 3 new intensive care unit beds, 2 new short stay beds, and overall upgrade and reconfiguration of the existing rooms. Austin Health - Short stay observation unit and psychiatric assessment and planning unit March 2018 The new unit for Austin Health, was a $15.2 million project that delivered 12 additional short stay beds, and 4 beds specifically for psychiatric assessment, all aiming to reduce emergency department waiting times, provide better access to mental health care, and access to specialist services. The short stay unit is aimed for acute care, and psychiatric unit for emergency incoming patients needing dedicated mental health care, and specialist attention. Eastern Health Breast and Cancer Centre May 2018 The Eastern Health Breast and Cancer Centre is a $10 million development co-located with Maroondah Hospital. This centre aims to provide breast services closer to home, including breast screening, breast cancer treatment, and supportive care services. This centre will allow for 12,800 extra patient consultations, 5,520 extra mammograms, and 2400 more breast consults. Bendigo Hospital June 2018 Bendigo Hospital is a $630 development, and the largest regional infrastructure development in Victoria. The hospital brags 2500 plus rooms, a 1000 meters squared green roof, solar efficiency, and an overall support system for regional Victoria connecting services in one new space. The hospital is an example of patient- centered design, providing bigger rooms, more single rooms, technological innovations, outdoor space, and is overall flooding with natural light. Further, Bendigo Hospital is the first energy efficient, sustainable and future-ready facility in Victoria. Werribee Mercy Hospital critical care expansion August 2018 The Werribee Mercy Hospital expansion is a $87 million investment in supporting the demand for healthcare in Melbourne’s west. Melbourne’s west is apart of the some of the nation’s fastest growing municipalities and suburbs, and this project delivered 56 new inpatient beds, 8 critical care beds, and 6 new operating theaters. This is aimed to the population of Wyndham, ensuring they have high quality care close to home. This project was delivered by the Victorian Health Building Authority. Angliss Hospital new intensive care unit and short stay unit October 2018 The new $20 million intensive care unit in Angliss Hopsital addresses the need to improve health care services in Melbourne’s outer east. The new intensive care unit and short stay unit provide 14 more intensive care beds, 2 dedicated mental health bed, 8 more paediatric beds, and 16 adult acute short stay beds. This unit was created to support the adjacent emergency department, and provide 24 hour care, and intensive care. Broadmeadows Hospital Surgery Centre 2017 This new $17.3 million surgery centre provides access to emergency and elective surgery to the growing needs of Melbourne’s north west urban fringe. While the centre has 2 new operating theaters, reception, and recovery facility, it has provided an upgrade an expansion on existing services such as pathology, pharmacy, and radiology services. Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health February 2017 The $8.8 million redevelopment and expansion of the Healesville Hospital and Yarra Valley Health included a new operating theatre, a redeveloped community health centre and the introduction of renal dialysis, resulting in a 30 per cent increase in services provided from the site. This project has delivered 13 general medical ward beds, 6 renal dialysis chair, and a paediatric gym, in an effort to support Healsville and Yarra Ranges communities. Moorabbin Hospital imaging and outpatient expansion October 2017 The $16.1 million Moorabbin Hospital imaging and outpatient centre expansion delivered 11 new outpatient rooms, proved 50,000 more cancer screens a year, along with cancer screen equipment, and upgraded treatment and care services. This expansion supports the Monash Cancer Centre, providing more suites and opportunity for better car. Monash Children’s Hospital - Early in Life Mental Health Services November 2017 The $14 million Monash Children’s Hospital Early in Life Mental Health Services is aimed to support Monash Children’s Hospital to provide greater support for Victorian children who are experiencing mental health issues. Grampians Therapeutic Community February 2019 The $6 million Grampians alcohol and other drug treatment facility project for regional Victoria provides residential rehabilitation services to approximately 80 people a year. Medically Supervised Injecting Room project July 2019 The Medically Supervised Injecting Room at North Richmond Community Health reduce the high amount of Victorian drug overdose deaths. it is a place where people can inject drugs of dependence in a supervised health setting. It can also provide a gateway for people who inject drugs to access other health and social support services, including pathways to drug treatment and rehabilitation. Thomas Embling Hospital forensic mental health services expansion July 2019 The $23.48 million Thomas Embling Hospital forensic mental health services expansion support more people at risk to access the mental health services they need, in a secure environment. One in three prisoners are assessed as having mental health treatment needs with demand for mental health beds in the criminal justice system increasing over the past decade. The facility delivers 8 secure psychiatric ICU beds, 10 additional beds, and 2 new exclusively womens mental health beds. South West Healthcare Prevention and Recovery Care facility February 2018 The South West Healthcare Prevention and Recovery Care (PARC) centre is South West Victoria’s new dedicated prevention and recovery care service for people experiencing mental illness. The centre helps people who are unwell or recovering from an acute mental illness. It offers professional care in a modern, home-like environment. The centre features 10 new dedicated mental health beds, and 24 hour professional support. This facility also relieves the pressure on local hospital beds. Werribee Mercy Hospital mental health expansion (Clare Moore building) August 2018 The $34.7 million Werribee Mercy Hospital mental health expansion of the Clare Moore Building replaced the existing inpatient unit with a new 54-bed mental health facility. Melton Health and Community Services health hub September 2018 The $21 million Melton Health and Community Services health hub was designed to provide Melton communities with increased access to health, well-being and community services. Orygen and OYH Poplar Road precinct redevelopment (youth health services) November 2020 The Victorian Government invested $60 million to redevelop the Orygen and OYH Poplar Road precinct is an award winning clinical and research centre is designed for young people with serious mental illness. It supports the Victorian Government’s long-term vision to provide greater access and choice of services for young people living with mental illness. This service supports 5,000 young people, allowing a 50% capacity with the re-development. St George’s Hospital aged care facility Early 2021 The Victorian Government has invested $55.57 million to build the new St George’s Hospital aged care facility in Kew. This was the first step in a commitment to replace outdated public aged care homes with larger, modern and purpose-built facilities. The 90-bed facility is on the St George’s Hospital site. It includes two separate three-storey houses with private rooms and garden outlooks in a home-like environment. Thirty residents will live on each floor in smaller household pods with private rooms and access to medical, rehabilitation and allied health care services. Creswick Nursing Home Dementia friendly units March 2021 A new $3.2 million dementia friendly unit at Creswick Nursing Home, includes a new 12-bed unit purpose-built to provide best practice dementia care, and an overall upgrade for existing aged care. Benalla Aged Care Facility Morrie Evans Wing January 2020 The $.41 million redeveloped, and refurbishment of the Morrie Evans Wing, is a public aged care facility in Benalla boasting a 30-bed facility offering residents quality aged care services in a home-like setting. The refurbishment also considered the needs of staff, rejuvenating offices and nurses stations, in addition to creating ample open, and outdoor space for residents and staff to enjoy at the facility. Goulburn Valley Health – Shepparton Hospital redevelopment May 2020 The Victorian Government is investing $229.3 million to redevelop the Goulburn Valley Health Shepparton Hospital. The re-development delivers new and expanded facilities and improve capacity for Hume and surrounding communities. Edenhope and District Memorial Hospital redevelopment June 2020 The $6.3 million state-of-the-art redevelopment provides residents with private rooms with en-suites, enhancing their quality of care, while ensuring privacy and dignity. The re-development delivers 18 beds for high care, new social spaces, common areas and , a large central courtyard, all accommodating dementia-friendly design. Golden Oaks Nursing Home redevelopment Mid 2020
The $4.9 million redevelopment is apart of Bendigo’s Health’s Golden Square aged-care precinct. The nursing home accommodated 15 residents, all with private rooms and en-suites, with the aim to increase privacy and independence of residents. Further, the development upgraded kitchen services, revamped common areas. The redevelopment was made possible via a $4.9 million contribution from the Victorian Government’s Regional Health Infrastructure Fund. BlueCross Box Hill August 2019 Box Hill is a 216 room nursing home located adjacent to transport, shops, restaurants, Box Hill Library, and bustling Box Hill shopping centre. The aim of the design is to assist in feelings of home, with open-plan kitchens, and group resident participation in domestics tasks such as: cooking and washing up. The facility has multiple outdoor spaces: landscaped gardens, and sitting spaces to be enjoyed by residents, and visiting family and friends. This is a privately owned home by BlueCross.
