BIRTH of a frame
This collection of drawings is intended to sit aside the ‘nascent’ booklet, It shows the development of the proposal from looking at insertions at a Karposh wide level (following on from the development of the frame) to analysing ideas around pier and service connection.

INNER FOCUS
I focused on a single apartment block to develop the project further, looking at the relationship between parent and child, as well as the redefinition of public space which would occur, analysing ideas around pier and service connection. FOCUS

I continued to investigate this inner focus, starting to break down the uniformity, referencing to the site context and introducing ‘skybridge’ infrastructures.

block to Frame
After having decided the frame was too obstructive and did not respect the site well. The frame evolved to house the additions more organically, narratives of apartments in the existing block help form the additions themselves, through spatial, inhabitation and material choice at A1 5m 2m 1:100

Inner focus
Going back to the idea of the communities conceiving the new forms, I inserted piers through the stairwells, allowing the infills to incrementally grow from them as well as providing access, through I felt these ‘infills’ were too structured and un-free. at A0 5m 2m 1:100

block to Frame
I continued the exploration of the interlinkages (poetic, physical, infrastructural) between parent block and child form through the piers and established that the stairwells within the parent blocks can be reused to connect the piers to the existing circulation routes of the existing apartment blocks. at A1 5m 2m 1:100

REVIEW OF IDEAS
I used this drawing to take stock and review the ideas and decisions I had made. I helped me get my head around the project, though I came to notice the capsules placement in the block looked too uniform and stark and the attachment mechanism may be too complicated for the unskilled maker. at A2 Not to Scale

Sharing
I have started to develop the capsules even further, splitting them into interchangeable panels, made by individual makers, attached to uniform structure, the choice of panel will change in line with residents needs, some will grow some will shrink. The plan highlights the sharing of spaces and services and the parent-child relationship spatially. at A1 10m 4m 1:200
