Checklist for Picture Day NEED TO KNOW • • • •

The Photographer willl be shooting every room (including closets) and all around the exterior of your home. No personal items (if photos must be out, please keep them to a minimum) The floors need to be clear of debris, swept, and vacuumed. You will be able to tell they are dirty in pictures. The Photographer will open or close blinds when possible based on the lighting in each particular room.

_ _ _ _ _ All lights turned on (change burnt out bulbs) _ _ _ _ _ Turn fans off _ _ _ _ _ Remove eye distractions, (i.e. cords, personal items, seasonal items, pet items, items on bed posts, etc.) _ _ _ _ _ Turn Monitors Off (TV’s, computers, etc.) _ _ _ _ _ Minimize wall hangings (straighten the hangings) _ _ _ _ _ Make all beds

KITCHEN

_ _ _ _ _ All lights turned on (change burnt out bulbs) _ _ _ _ _ Clean and put away dishes _ _ _ _ _ Clear off countertops (no more than 2-3 items of decoration) _ _ _ _ _ Toasters, Blenders and small appliances unplugged and hidden _ _ _ _ _ Clear off refrigerator (i.e. magnets, invitations, pictures, etc.)

BATHROOMS

_ _ _ _ _ All lights turned on (change burnt out bulbs) _ _ _ _ _ Clean mirrors (remove any stickers) _ _ _ _ _ Clear off countertops (no more than 2-3 items of decoration) _ _ _ _ _ Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e toothbrushes, hair dryers, trash cans, personal items) _ _ _ _ _ Toilet lids in down position _ _ _ _ _ Make sure towel racks have towels hanging (great way to add color) _ _ _ _ _ Clean shower curtain (you don’t want spotted curtains for pictures, may be great time for a new one)

POOL (if applicable)

_ _ _ _ _ Pool should be cleaned just prior to shooting _ _ _ _ _ Removal of movable eye distractions (i.e. cables, trash cans, pool supplies, floaties, etc.) _ _ _ _ _ Chairs arranged facing the pool

EXTERIOR

Mow the lawn, trim those trees and bushes! _ _ _ _ _ Sweep/blow off the walk ways from any debris _ _ _ _ _ In some cases, power washing the exterior (including the fence) _ _ _ _ _ Remove all movable eye distractions (i.e. trash cans, signage, hoses, pet items, lawn equipment) _ _ _ _ _ Keep the sides of the house clear as well, I will be shooting all angles _ _ _ _ _ Move vehicles out of driveway (can be parked in the garage or down the road)
