§3 Oahspe’s Vision of Salvation Discovering the True Path of Oahspe Part V: Shalam: The Father’s Kingdom on Earth Chapter 1: New Age Community Origins
1
Oahspe — if nothing else — is a new age book, a new age path — chiefly concerned with achieving resurrection — that is, spiritual progression — for oneself and for all with whom we share this world.
Just for clarification, one can contemplate resurrection as the training process whereby one gradually becomes an ever more elevated, noble, and cosmic angel-god-being of the unending cosmic-heavenly realms. This is what Oahspe describes as the ultimate destiny of each of us, an immortal self-perfecting quest to rise to higher and higher spiritual-universal levels — levels of knowledge, power and 2
love, through which we can in union with other beings, support, resurrect, and create stars and worlds and civilizations throughout the interconnected three realities of matter, spirit, and etherea.
Neither let any man fear that his talents may become too exalted for the work I have provided; for until he hath created a firmament, and created suns and stars to fill it, he hath not half fulfilled his destiny. (Lika 3:14) *6
The question then arises as to what one should to do in order to make progress towards resurrection / salvation.
Consider, then, what ye can do that will raise you in spirit; for this is resurrection. First, to purify yourselves; second, to do all the good ye can; and third, to affiliate. Without these, there can be no resurrection. Or, having two of them, and lacking in the third, there can be no resurrection. (Eskra 30:17-18) *6
All three goals require sacrifice, love and wisdom, which is to say, an array of virtuous behavior and virtuous attitudes are required to develop in oneself if salvation is to be achieved. Since these traits take a lifetime to begin to acquire, there is no finite path to becoming constitutional perfect in virtues and in resurrection.
3
The Ever Present quickeneth man into life in his mother's womb; and he is then and there a new creation, his spirit from the Spirit Jehovih, and his body from the earth; a dual being the Father createth him. His destination is everlasting resurrection; in which matter man can have delightful labor as he riseth upward forever and ever. (Arc of Bon 28:27-28) )*6
And hence, without a doubt, we were created for eternal ascension. And think (!): what a lifeless existence for everyone it would be if we reached a perfect state of being with no future goals to achieve! At any rate, if all life is in a continuing process — if all the suns and moons and planets and nebulae are in perpetual change — so too must be our resurrection. For do we not all consist of these three great realities: body-mind-soul?
Yet to see resurrection as eternal
— which it truly is— is NOT what fake and false leaders and prophets preach.
I would like to point out next that there are many adherents of religion, cults and of Oahspe itself, who are exemplary persons of the highest order. These persons, I would argue, answer to a higher light beyond their dogmatic training.
So what I criticize next is the underlying
dogma and clergy that rules such organizations, not their individuals who nonetheless serve the Creator in Spirit, if under different names.
4
However, a multitude of falsehoods are given by clergy-cult rulers to their followers as being absolutely and eternally true — when they are absolutely and eternally wrong.
You see, false religions, such as Christianity and Islam, literally promise their followers that they shall receive eternal salvation for just making the choice of submission. For example, many Christian sects proclaim that simply wholeheartedly accepting Jesus as their lord and savior, guarantees eternal salvation. The Catholic Church guarantees if one confesses all of one’s sins to an ordained priest — even right before death, without any attonement — in the sacrament of confession — that no matter how many or long you may have done horrible things, you are going to heaven for eternity. Even more unbelievably,
Islam
guarantees
paradise to those
who
kill
non-Islamic believers — the more the better — men, women or children, where you will be rewarded with a “heaven” of nonstop sexual fulfillment.
5
You see, cults and religions have a lot of darkness in common: lies and sexual depravity would be two major examples. For instance, the rape of children by Christian clergy occurs far more often than by the average person. Additionally, in Islam, there is a great deal of religious support for raping any woman, especially infidels, or any woman not accompanied by a male. See Europe’s current rape crisis involving immigrants for proof of that.
6
Concerning a personal example, I was told by an Oahspean cult leader that UNLESS I joined her group, I would NEVER achieve salvation — that there were a limited number of seats on the Etherean ship sent to save the world — and thus this was a now-or-never proposition. Join now or go to hell. Young and naïve and afraid, I believed her, and so signed up and started the indoctrination program — though fortunately only by phone and long distance propaganda materials.
As a further personal example, and even more sickeningly, this cult leader, Mary Lou Brown, tyrant seer of The Oahspe-Faithist Universal Light group, way back in 1984 in Los Angeles, California (by telephone) told me that unless I had sex with a prostitute, I would never achieve salvation. At this point, I finally had a spiritual epiphany and rejected the cult and MLB — who had proclaimed herself Goddess of the Red Star — and returned to my home in Michigan, free in spirit at last (I had finally decided to visit the cult but called just before I was to go there).
At any rate, I certainly felt “saved” at the time, and would years later discover that I had escaped the exceptional pain and darkness MLB had caused for many of her members. Part Six will give more details on such spiritual crimes.
7
And this is not to say all Oahspe-groups are depraved or “cults, though the evidence so far is that most were or are. I can vouch for several which were excellent groups filled with excellent seekers of light, as can other Faithists for groups of many decades ago or of current times.
More research will be shared in this regard also in
Part Six.
Therefore, many religious-cult claims have been never true and have deceived and entrapped billions of souls.
Just a little logical
reflection proves their claims to be lies, being told to attract the naive, the lazy and the evil at heart.
8
In summary, false gods, false clergy, false cult leaders do one thing more than anything else — LIE in promising what they think the lazy and evil want to hear: instant gratification, and LIE to make others FEAR eternal damnation if they disobey. I say LIE but they believe their LIES to be the truth. They believe their lies give immediate and everlasting resurrection.
Yet in all the cosmos, no instant eternal transformation takes place, but rather, continuing processes and cycles of progress.
The birth
of a star takes hundreds of millions of years, not a single second. The caterpillar does not instantly change into a butterfly, but instead does so by a transformative process of up to three weeks.
A child
does not instantaneous come into being as baby infant, but conversely is born after 9-months of development from the time of conception in the womb. It can take decades of education to become a licensed medical doctor. Likewise, no mortal can become an angelic being of high spiritual-universal attunement save by dozens of decades of service and attonement and sacrifice.
Hence, salvation is an eternal process, which is best begun earnestly here and now while a mortal.
Consider the follow quotations from Oahspe upon this truth:
9
The spirit groweth by cultivation, which is the practice of wisdom, truth, virtue, benevolence, and affiliation with others. (Judgment 20:9) *6
So I say at the gates of my exalted heavens, unto the inhabitants of the earth: Only by knowledge and righteous works, done unto one another, shall ye be able to endure the light of my kingdoms. (Judgment 17:6) *6
Jehovih's chosen stand equal before the Father, and every one shall work out his own resurrection, both in this world and the next. (Arc of Bon 9:28) *6
Serve thy Creator by doing good unto others with all thy wisdom and strength, and by being true to thine own highest light, and all knowledge shall come to thee. (2nd Book of 2nd Lords 1:20) *6
10
Fundamentally, this means that all of us have to take a very hard look at ourselves and determine how we, based on our skills, aptitudes, and financial resources can help others — especially the poor, alienated, addicted, disabled, and distressed.
What I have
noticed is most of us would prefer to discuss high spiritual concepts or even the trivial details of such, rather than roll up our sleeves and toil away in sacrificing for and uplifting those in our reach. This observation applies to me as much as to anyone.
I and we must do
more — and as soon as possible — and service is the key to any utopian community succeeding — especially that of Shalam as described in Oahspe.
11
So let us always realize that each of us as mortals can only live at most for several generations of life. Our mortal life is a kind of “spiritual gestative-pregnancy” state This phase is followed by our “birth” as a spirit of the heavens. Equally the case, so too must each civilization end.
And correspondently, such realms, whether
city, nation, church or cult or company, each group, so long as mentally supported by its members, will also continue to have a spiritual counter-part in the heavens above. You see, what is created on earth continues on into the spirit world: in the heavens or in the hells. There are thousands of spiritualism accounts documenting just that.
Yet the progression of individuals is connected to the progression of groups.
Likewise, the bondage of individuals and of groups is also
linked. If Christian or Muslim or Mason believes in the eternity of their religious afterlife, there will be day of reckoning when they pass over to dwell in the spiritual kingdom of their choice. There they find not heaven but often instead a prison! Years of mental prayers and affirmations and rites and symbolism and soul-choice will make this so. With our own personal thoughts, we build our heavens — and our hells (to our surprise!) — we are in fact virtually irresistibly drawn towards them.
Thus what we believe and how we live are critical
factors in how our life in the spiritual realms begins.
12
Those who while on earth were attracted towards angelic love or mystic oneness, so too would they continue immortal life in the higher heavens.
However, those who love dark addictions —
whether the basest desire, intoxicant highs, violent hatred, or deceptive crime, they are drawn towards the many levels and kinds of hells that in spirit are below us.
In the final resolution, that which we sought on earth, which we loved with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind — that shall dictate what we choose as
our “heaven,” our heart-mind-astral destination. The
denizens of hell may not have thought much about it but the awful truth is, for the most part, they ENJOY and WANT TO BE in their hell.
13
Nevertheless, it should be kept in mind that as we can always raise up our heart and mind to be of a higher quality, so too can we always raise our spirit to abide in a higher spiritual realm.
In truth, we are whom we choose to be, though we may never look in the mirror as soon as we might have in order to understand just what kind
of
person
we
are
becoming.
Oahspe
and
other
spiritualism-mystic books of truth were written to enlighten us so we would get the big picture — so we could learn (1) to liberate ourselves from any darkness, and (2) how to best work with the Creator and the angelic beings in achieving good works — that is how to make heavens of light and love, and lives of light and love, above and here on earth.
As the salvation of our communities and of our selves is intertwined, let us next look at how an ideal community of community of the future — according to Oahspe — shall operate and develop.
