Three tips for a calm and happy Christmas break
One Day Mindfulness Retreat in January

Three tips for a calm and happy Christmas break 1. Be there to enjoy it Everything, and I mean everything in our life can become a mindfulness practice, from doing the dishes, to putting up the Christmas decorations and concentrating on what someone else is saying to you. Whenever you notice your mind has wandered, simply return it to your present moment experience.
2. Stay present to avoid conflict One thing that is true about every family is that they know how to press our buttons. We then find ourselves being pulled into the old behavioural responses that we learned when we were young. This is quite normal but the more aware we are of how we feel and what we are thinking, the better equipped we are to reduce the impact of these difficult encounters. Stay connected to what is happening in your body.
3. Take time to relax Even if we are having an excellent Christmas break, we can spend it all rushing around trying to get more done. in this case, if we take some time out to relax our body, we will appreciate it more and benefit from having taken out some time for ourselves.
One Day Mindfulness Retreat 29th January, 2017 11.00am - 4.30pm
A day's pampering for the mind Join us for next year's first One Day Mindfulness Retreat on 29th January, 11.00am 4.30pm at The Seeker's Trust, West Malling in Kent. Back by popular demand, this day long session will see you benefiting from feeling more relaxed with less stress and anxiety, happier and empowered. You will also leave with tools and techniques you can practice and benefit from in your own time.
This intensive detox for the mind will leave you feeling refreshed, happier and more balanced.
"The day retreat and the beginning of August was wonderfully uplifting and my mind was almost still for 3 days after! (The inner chatter of my mind subsided markably)"
- Eileen
What will you leave with? By attending this event you will benefit from five hours worth of carefully selected mood boosting, relaxation and stress management exercises, meditations, information and practical guidance.
Tailored to what you want to achieve The day will start by each anonymously stating what we want to acheive from the day and in the long term. You may want to feel less stressed or anxious about something you are facing/faced with, for example.
This will inform us which exercises, practices and guidance to give to help you achieve your goals.
Based on the scientifically proven ingredients to happiness The day centres around four sessions focused on happiness, each containing techniques that are scientifically proven to increase long term happiness. These are:
Mindfulness
Compassion
Gratitude
Relaxation
There will be short introductory talks on each section followed by meditations, group and individual exercises. There will also be opportunities for group contributions from those that wish to do so.
Includes lunch and Mindful walking (weather permitting) The day also incorporates a Mindful walk in The Seeker's Trust's 39 acres of grounds and gardens, a light lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
