about us shoveling snow productions is comprised of 5 juniors from parsons school for design. we are currently all n our junior year. our design development class, instructed by robert rabinovitz has taken on an assignment of utilizing the design process to come up with a television show series.

what we’ve done by using design proncipals, we have developed 5 characters accompanied with a list of characteristics. for designing our shows, we decided that we would base our show around the developed personas ans not the personas around the show.

how we did it think of people who are extreme, dramatic, overly sensitive, defensive and just plain arguementative.....and multiply that by 10. shoveling snow productions has notices that secondary characters in many programs have have grabbed the attention of viewers. viewers such as ourselves, always lust for more of these characters. by concentrating on over the top actions, re-actions and emotions, as each character will remind viewers of someone they know.

our programs and the plot will truly represent an escape for viewers from every day hectic life and will leave viewers believing that those over the top people that they compare our charactersto, really aren’t that bad in the end

35 years old, married, no kids, student. 5’8”, 195 lbs , brown hair, brown eyes. years fried old, canadian livesfake in nyc. 30years old (if 47 was the new 30), married, no kids (they would wreck her 25 figure). hair, fakebut tan.tall, long legs, full lips, slim. 17 years old, lives with her parents. 5’4”, 115 lbs, blond hair boobs, and blue eyes. jim left the workforce as a corporate executive in the entertainmnet industry to go back to school in hopes of changing his career. Personas were developed for each character idea that detailed, lifestyle, qualities, family life and life experience. After the development of characteristics, images that we believed matched the character traits were inserted to fit in with the list of characteristics

the show concepts phase 1 - design - show concept development In this phase shoveling snow productions brainstormed and created a variety of show concepts. show concepts were developed keeping the character personas that were developed in the character development stage. all of the show concepts were designed to have all 5 developed characters as the “stars” of the cast.

plot concept 1 all 5 characters are enrolled in night school art class. they are all taking the class for lack of anything better to do with their time. none of them have any artistic talent. they really don’t care about it or bother to put any effort into it at all.

plot concept 2 the rehabilitation resort is located in a remote part of arizona. all five characters end up in same rehab clinic for various reasons in an attempt to “find themselves” and overcome their disorders/addictions. the disorders that the characters have are are o.c.d., suicidal tendencies, eating disorder, rage or anger issues, alcohol and drug addiction. the series will be an emotional roller-coaster as the characters try to work out there different issues while meeting in a group.

plot concept 3 couples therapy group. all five characters are in therapy with their significant other, each for a unique reason. susan just loves her husbands money, gustav just recently divorced from his wife of several years, christina just hopes to perform research for her next book, jim is being forced to go by his wife and minni’s parents have a totally dysfunctional relationship and wants to avoid any possibilty of being like them. this series is dramatic and deeply discusses love and relationships through group and individual therapy sessions.

all 5 characters are serving mandatory 90 hours of community service time together for various reasons to avoid jail time . each episode follows a new activity. susan for shoplifting, gustav for indecent exposure, christina for driving under the influence, jim for assaulting an officer (he punched a cop), minni for drug possession.

plot concept 6 a family reunion taking place after extended family members haven’t seen each other in several years. all characters are related in some obscure way and none of them really get along. cast members are either distant cousins, related through marriage and adopted. the reunion is in rural ohio.

plot concept 7 game show (kind of survivor-esque) where contestants have to perform various tasks in hopes of making to to the last week and becoming the winner of the grand prize$100,000,000. each week they are in a new location (antarctic, amazon, sahara desert, etc.) and in the end they all end up turning on each other because they become so paranoid.

plot concept 8 all 5 characters are guests in a scary old haunted hotel. crime has been committed and they all have to figure out who is guilty before another horrible thing happens to them. the hotel is located in a small english stormy town.

plot concept 9 their plane crashed near some island en route to south america from new york city. 5 characters are the main survivors who now live with indigenous people on remote island with no connection to the outside world.

the show concepts phase 4 - refine design - show concept development - storyboard development in this phase, shoveling snow productions considered feedback from the class and decided to combine our show selections into 1 show. the characters from each show did not change from concept to concept thus we decided to implement all 3 concepts into one show and and create subsequent seasons from all of our concept selections. In selecting one show, to allow for plot expansion, we created new secondary characters to give the show a greater dimension.

the show concepts phase 5 - implementation - final show concept development shoveling show productions gladly introduces viewers to a new show that runs 8 episodes entitled, “where the fuck is ohio”. subsequesnt seasons will include, “where the fuck is ohio - community service” and where the fuck is ohio - higher class”. seeing as only the location and scenario for each show concept changed, we decided to combine the 3 concepts into 1 show. each concept would become a subsequent season starting with the meeting of the 5 main characters in where the fuck is ohio.

the business phase 1 - design - create and identify show concept supporting materials. In this phase shoveling snow productions brainstormed and created a variety of show concept supporting materials to enhance the brand of the show and to enhance the viewer’s involvement and support of the show. shoveling snow productions developed concepts that directly relate to the main characters and their characteristics. seeing as how we have established that where the fuck is ohio will be our pilot season, we decided to promote the show with a line of merchandise.

we also decided that the platform for our program would be a perfect opportunity for in show product placement and promotion for sponsors and advertisiers. due to the extremes in out character traits, shoveling snow believes that blatent product placement would not only benefit sponsors but would also enhance the comedy in our program.

through our process, we discovered that a positive reaction was noticed from our title. our title, due to the use of the word fuck, captivated our viewers. by promoting the title itself as a product, shoveling snow believes that the title itself is a product. promoting the show by use of the title not only would peak viewer interest but it would promote branded products associated with the show.
