Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce enjoyed an outstanding 2017. The highlight of the year, without a doubt, was receiving U.S. Chamber of Commerce 5-Star Accreditation. This highest rating possible recognized Rochester Chamber’s sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community. This is an enormous accomplishment for our organization. Of the more than 7,000 chambers of commerce in the United States, Rochester Chamber is one of only 205 to carry U.S. Chamber Accreditation, 112 with 5-Star Accreditation, and one of only four accredited chambers in New York State. Our members should find value in U.S.Chamber accreditation because it is a third party validation of our organization that reviews every aspect of its operations with very stringent standards. It reinforces that our members can have great confidence in our chamber and the work that it does on their behalf. As we move forward, the more members we have, the stronger advocacy voice we have locally, statewide, and federally. There is no doubt that growing membership is a challenge for any chamber of commerce these days and Rochester Chamber is no different. Because of that, I ask all of our members to become ambassadors and recruit your customers, vendors, and friends in business as Rochester Chamber members. I have also issued a challenge to our board of directors to recruit at least two new members each in 2018 to grow our voice of business. We are here to serve you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for anything we can do to help your organization grow and prosper. Keep in mind that all employees of Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce member organizations are considered members, eligible to enjoy our services, events, and discounts. Get your entire staff involved. Thank you for your support of Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce. We exist because of and for you. I promise our tireless advocacy to help expand your business opportunities and to navigate the many legislative and regulatory challenges that businesses face across the state and the nation.
