The transport links from New Milton are excellent, with the mainline station running regular services to Bournemouth in under 20 minutes, Southampton in under 30 minutes and London Waterloo in around 2 hours. The local bus network is equally good, with regular buses from New Milton to nearby villages, the seafront and along the coast.

New Milton sits around eight miles west of Lymington (a major yachting centre) and 12 miles east of Bournemouth, which has a reputation as both a popular tourist destination and a regional business centre.
