Boulder is one of the cities with uniqueness tucked into every corner. My now husband and I frequented Boulder when planning our Rocky Mountain wedding and I absolutely fell in love. - ENGAGEMENT -
Afua + Kyle Kyle and Afua met in late 2012 volunteering on the same team with the national education non-profit City Year in Boston. Their connection was pretty immediate and they dated for the entirety of their volunteer year. In Summer of 2013, Afua moved to New York to attend graduate school while Kyle stayed in Boston to pursue a career in education. The two dated off and on, until 2015 when Kyle relocated to Denver, CO to open a new school. In late 2017 the two reconnected via phone calls, FaceTimes and eventually visits, and in 2018 Afua joined Kyle out West. They’ve been together ever since! On February 13th, 2020, one day after Kyle’s 30th birthday, Kyle and Afua made the 12+ hour road trip from their home in Denver, Colorado to Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. After settling into their lodging for the long weekend, they decided to walk to a nearby vista point before dinner to take in the iconic views. Kyle set up his camera tripod for some scenic pictures, and then proceeded to get down on one knee and ask Afua to marry him.

Jackie + Ryan Ryan and Jackie were introduced by a friend in 2015. Ryan knew their friend, Brooke, when they both lived in Cincinnati, and Jackie became good friends with Brooke through work. When Ryan was getting ready to move to Colorado, Brooke kept mentioning Ryan as someone Jackie needed to meet. They put off meeting for a while, but finally got together for dinner at Hapa with several other friends. They hung out everyday after that dinner and the rest is history! They planned a spring wedding at The St. Vrain surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their wedding day was unseasonably warm and they took advantage of the stunning outdoor courtyard. Ryan and Jackie incorporated romantic bohemian elements with soft colored florals and a unique altar piece. They celebrated the start of their forever with special moments shared between family and friends.

Gabrielle + Oscar Oscar and Gabrielle were introduced by friends and it was love at first sight. Oscar proposed a year later while they were spending the weekend of Gabi’s 21st birthday at the house she grew up in Boulder. Oscar, Gabi, and Gabi’s parents went out to brunch on her birthday, and while they were out, Gabi’s sister, Margo, secretly flew into town to set up rose petals and ribbons all over the backyard. When they all got home from lunch, Oscar jumped out of the car to stand under a big tree with a rope swing to ask Gabi to marry him. It was the sweetest thing ever. They planned a wedding centered on joy, romance and pink! Gabi is the youngest of five children, and every single one of her siblings was married in their childhood home’s backyard. From lavender to navy blue to green to pink, the backyard has hosted its fair share of Meyer weddings. Their wedding day included sweet words shared by Gabi’s father, Oscar serenading Gabi to her favorite Elton John song and a magical rainbow to end their special day.

Welcoming Spring Birch and Honey Collective dreamt up a styled shoot at Shupe Homestead in Longmont, Colorado. Her inspiration was welcoming spring with a touch of boho. Warm tones of peach and blush with touches of gold, white and brown helped Kelsey bring together her vision for this styled shoot. Driven by placing a new twist on western, and adding a color palette that cannot be overlooked; a bright and crisp aesthetic with elegant, pastel colors served as the basis for an early spring wedding in Colorado. Shupe Homestead boasted the ranch backdrop with open fields, crisp sunlight and distant mountain ranges. The local vendor team wanted to elevate this western chic timeless shoot with some playful llamas.
