BREAKD OWN OF TH E CITY Situated in the middle of the Canadian Rocky Mountains at 3,478’ elevation, sits Jasper, Alberta. This alpine town is home to Jasper National Park, an abundance of wildlife and spectacular scenery. From ice skating across the frozen glacier-fed lakes in the winter to exploring the miles of towering forests in the summer, there is something for everyone in Jasper. We’ve compiled our favorite vendors, brunch spots and wedding inspiration from the Jasper area for your Rocky Mountain I Do’s.

Although from the same city and have many mutual friends, Scott and Marriya met online while Scott was temporarily living on the opposite side of the country. When Scott moved home, they finally had their first date and the rest was history.

The Proposal Scott planned a date night out to an escape room with a surprise at the end - an engagement! They worked through the escape room fairly quickly and got to the last clue, which was a trap door in the floorboards. There was an envelope that had a map and key. Although confused at first, Marriya finally realized that Scott had drawn the map that would take them to their next location. They followed the map which took them to a spot in the country where, on one of their early dates, they laid in his truck bed and gazed at the stars. Marriya saw a chest in the middle of the grass and the key from the envelope opened it. Inside the chest was a number of glass jars with lights in them, and a letter for her to read as music played. Scott set up the jars around them while she read the notes. He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him while his friend hid in the bushes and took photos. It was perfect! Natasha + Jordan jasper
Natasha and Jordan met at Blackhawk Golf Club where Natasha worked and Jordan is a member, almost seven years ago. It took a year for Natasha to convince Jordan that they were meant to be, but he finally gave in to her charm. Jordan proposed on Christmas Day, it was their first Christmas together. He wrapped the ring in a huge box and placed it under the tree. They have a tradition of handing out gifts one at a time, and Jordan saved the box with the ring in it for last. It was the perfect gift and proposal because Christmas is Natasha’s favourite day of the year!

Both Natasha and Jordan share the same favorite moment from their wedding day: the moment they saw each other for the first time walking down the aisle. They were both so nervous and full of emotion that it was amazing to finally see each other on their wedding day.

Zoey + Ryan jasper
Zoey and Ryan met while attending university and started dating shortly after. They bonded over a shared appreciation for homemade food, beer and the outdoors. They dated for six years before getting engaged on Christmas morning. It was quite a surprise to Zoey because they had not planned on exchanging gifts! Planning their Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge elopement was a breeze. Their wedding day itself was very low-key that they went for a drink and snack at the Emerald Lounge prior to their ceremony. Their only obligation was to show up at their ceremony location at 3pm - it was very relaxing!

Neha + Garrett jasper
High school sweethearts, Neha and Garrett, got engaged on a Thanksgiving weekend family trip with Garrett’s family. They went for a hike and once they got to the viewpoint, surrounded by stunning Rocky Mountain views, they stopped for some pictures. When it was Neha and Garrett’s turn for a picture, Garrett got down on one knee to propose while Neha thought he was just stopping to tie his shoe. She was completely surprised by the proposal! Garrett and Neha rearranged their larger wedding plans for a helicopter elopement in Jasper National Park. Their ceremony featured jaw-dropping views and was an intimate celebration of their love. Neha stunned in an Indian Lehenga outfit with bridal henna on her hands and feet to represent her South Asian background.
