FREE SPIRITED SENSATION
What do you get when you mix chic ivory satin, cowboy hats, moto jackets with fringe, and two lovers head over heels? A glitz and glamour of the wild, Wild West inspired wedding. In honour of the couple’s real life anniversary, Rebecca Frank Co. captured Jess and Davis’ demi-decade celebration of marriage by paying homage to their favourite vintage era. The free-spirited sensation is reminiscent of Queen Ann's Revenge, an online retail boutique for secondhand gems in Calgary, owned by the bride herself. Between the dated roadside motel to the cute as can be chapel, this styled shoot gives a sweet subtle nod to the ‘60s while keeping it modern. So, dust off your grandma’s authentic, aged boots for an offbeat and intentional accessory because we’re going back in time.
GOING TO THE CHAPEL
While most couples who elope in Alberta opt for Banff National Park or Lake Louise, the Drumheller Badlands offer a unique setting of eroded sandstone formations and coloured layers where particular areas of the landscape look like the face of the moon. On the outskirts of town, steeped in history, a trim white structure known as The Little Church, holds a mere six people, only furthering the intimacy of an ethereal elopement.
SAY "YES" at BLUSH & RAVEN
Set in the heart of downtown Calgary on 10th Ave, an intimate and locally owned bridal boutique has proved especially exciting for the bride seeking something with softness, edge, and even grace. Founded by Liane Knox, Blush & Raven, was born into existence through her own experience as a bride while she searched the market for luxury bespoke gowns that were unique and unconventional. At the end of her shopping journey it was apparent, Calgary brides were in need of a welcoming atmosphere where they felt at ease and heard. Today, Blush & Raven is redefining the bridal fashion scene with a new space that is bold, refined, and confident just like their brides.
BESPOKE BRIDAL COUTURE
From the moment you walk through the glass doors, you can feel the effortless essence of this special boutique. Featuring collections from fashion houses and couture ateliers within Canada and around the globe, Blush & Raven offers a coveted selection of gowns designed by Monique Lhuillier, Savin London, and NEWHITE, just to name a few.
WHAT DREAMS ARE MADE OF
During your exclusive one-on-one appointment, you will be greeted by a professional stylist then ushered into a private bridal suite designed for you and your loved ones. When it comes to finding the dress you have always dreamed of, Blush & Raven takes the time to understand who you are and what’s important to you, in pursuit of cultivating a truly customized experience that will carry on as a lasting memory to cherish.

SAMMY + DYLAN
deep cove
Sammy and Dylan met in high school during a week-long cancellation of classes due to snow. “I definitely had a crush on him first, while he claims I was out of his league,” Sammy shares. They were soon a couple and attended the University of Victoria together. Every year for their anniversary, Sammy and Dylan visit their alma mater in British Columbia. Four days shy of their ten year, a proposal took place. With a stop in Vancouver for the night before continuing on to Victoria, Dylan told Sammy he had a surprise waiting. So, they left the hotel, jumped in the car and arrived at Deep Cove where a small boat greeted them for a sunset cruise to a nearby hot spring. With just the two of them and the captain gliding across the calm water, the sun started to drift beyond the horizon and the sky turned pink. Distracted by the views, Sammy didn’t notice the dock covered in flowers and candles till the boat arrived. Sammy found herself in awe as the couple hopped off the boat and Dylan asked Sammy to marry him! A few moments later, the clicking of a camera moved closer. Dylan planned for Sarah Nicole Photography to capture the proposal. Shortly after, Dylan asked Sarah if his helpers were around, and Sammy’s mother and younger brother appeared at the top of the dock.

CHELSEA + FRANCESCO edmonton
Chelsea and Francesco attended the same high school before inevitably losing touch when they embarked on the next chapter of their lives. But six years later, Chelsea and Francesco rekindled a relationship and the spark was strong. Just over two years later during a weekend getaway to the mountains, Francesco popped the question at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. After being pampered with a couples massage, the pair decided to go for a little light walk on the property before dinner. The picturesque path led them to a quiet lake where no one was in sight. The couple sat down for a few minutes to take in the surroundings. Before Chelsea knew it Francesco was down on one knee with an engagement ring in hand.

CHRISTINA + DANY CANMORE
High school sweethearts, Christina and Dany became fast friends in the eleventh grade and the rest is history. Eight years later, Christina and Dany celebrated their graduation from University with a trip to Mexico. On the first night, as the sun was setting, Dany got down on one knee and asked Christina to marry him along the white sand beach and crystal-clear waters.
JESSICA + SUNNY
SQUAMISH
Though Jessica and Sunny met on a professional level the connection was undeniably present after their first date. So much that the second date was a seven day trip to Mexico together. After five years of dating, Sunny and Jessica were given a photoshoot with Angie Gallant, as a Christmas gift from Sunny’s family. Sunny took the opportunity to surprise Jessica by getting down on one knee and asking her to marry him. The moment was perfectly captured during a blissful and romantic snowfall.

BACH AND BOOZY
There are very few things that girls love more than a boozy bachelorette brunch. With the help of Dani Anderson Creative, Brie & Banquet, and photography by Rebecca Frank Co. this girl gang pulled out all the stops to create an upbeat bridal fête that embodies a sexy, feminine, and fun spin on an ordinary bach weekend. From the synergy between the bride and her leading ladies to the Insta-worthy outfits, it was no wonder this styled inspiration left us feeling as if we were part of the guest list.
BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH
Founder and Creative Lead
brings a fresh approach to Calgary’s grazing-style catering scene. Using her honed-skills in art, interior design, and holistic nutrition, she showcases small bites to be playful, pretty, interesting, and interactive while taking advantage of local and artisanal ingredients. Featuring a bottomless brunch full of mouth-watering cuisine displayed among wispy and airy florals from Foxglove Studio, the delectable noshes include avocado toast, superfruit yogurt parfaits topped with colourful berries and melon, and citrus mimosas to quench your thirst.
LET 'S GO GIRLS
If there’s one thing we love at Rocky Mountain Bride, it’s a theme done right. Inspired by the sparkling burst of citrus colours on the menu that cannot be overlooked, the bridesmaids wow in splashy standout shades of fuschia, bright lime, and tropical tangerine. While the trio pops against the otherwise achromatic palette of the Trickle Creek Designer Homes backdrop, the bride undoubtedly steals the show in a chic ensemble from Park & Fifth Co. then styled with a simple yet modern headband to finish the look.

SEASIDE ceremony
Surrounded by rocky coastline, Vancouver Island, off the coast of British Columbia offers a romantic allure for a quiet elopement ceremony. Say “I do” among misty seaside cliffs with only the sound of the tide slowly rolling in, a moment that should be preserved for a lifetime with the help of Doxa Photography.
COASTAL
cowboy
Who said traditional Western menswear was only meant for rustic affairs?
The groom embraced his individual style without overshadowing the Pacific Coast, herself. Clean lines and sophisticated accessories allow his ensemble to be formal enough, but still dressed down in a sleek manor. Redefine the ordinary coastal fête in a vintage gown that is downright chic.
From the sheer tulle fabric and full layered ruffled skirt to the feminine puffed sleeves, you will instantly feel elegant and cool all at the same time.

From the wispy tulle gown with exaggerated puff sleeves to crimson red blooms, festive greenery, and ethereal baby’s breath, everything about this simple yet stunning styled shoot from Keely Rae Photography has us speechless.
Intimate I Do’s
If the process of planning a wedding feels like a daunting task or the mere thought of being centre of attention for the day has you shuddering, then the intimacy of an elopement may be the answer you and your fiancé are searching for. With an experience built on slowing down, immerse yourself in the quiet natural splendour of cross country trails and high alpine terrain. After the ceremony, get candid with the camera as your love shines through in every gorgeous moment captured.

Sylvea Blair +
Sylvea and Blair met in a very old fashioned way; at a local bar. Love was in the air that night because seven years later, Blair popped the question while on a road trip excursion to Banff and Jasper. “Blair booked a helicopter tour that took us over ice fields and landed at the confluence of Cline Falls. We did a short hike to the waterfalls, where Blair proposed. Our amazing pilot filmed the whole thing!” recalls the bride.
SIMPLICITY
With unobstructed views of the city, Sylvea and Blair tied the knot on The Wallace’s Waterfront Terrace overlooking the Shipyards District. Classic wood folding chairs filled the expansive 2,400 square foot outdoor patio, while a circular altar adorned with lush greenery offered the perfect backdrop for a striking minimalistic look.
ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Enjoy the whole process, right down to the planning. Everything goes by so quickly.”

Amanda + Matthew
When Matthew saw Amanda studying in the school library and heard it was her birthday, he took it as an opportunity to buy her a coffee and introduce himself. Matthew’s charming personality and plan wooed Amanda. After nine years of dating, Matthew proposed on a romantic winter getaway to Emerald Lake Lodge, a dream-worthy location tucked in the wilderness of the Yoho National Park, surrounded by the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. Once at their destination, Matthew suggested taking photos from the centre of the frozen lake. Without giving it a second thought, Amanda led the way and when she turned around there was Matt bent down on one knee holding a ring box.
SEASONAL CELEBRATION
On an autumn afternoon, Amanda and Matthew said “I do” in front of five guests at a cattle ranch nestled in the foothills along Cowboy Trail. After reciting personal promises to one another, the bride and groom slipped away at sunset to capture photos where a field of horses made for a striking visual.

Carey Nash PhotographyNichola +Dylan
When Nichola moved from Alberta to Ontario, she was hired at a local bar as a replacement for an employee who was travelling throughout Europe for the next several months. It wasn’t until Dylan, the employee, returned home and continued working at the bar that the two became best friends. After countless road trips filled with an abundance of laughter, Nichola and Dylan took their friendship to the next level as roommates. Soon after, the pair fell head over heels for each other and were a couple from that moment forward. Two years later, Dylan surprised Nichola with a summer trip to Tobermory, Ontario. With Nichola’s love for swimming, it was only fitting to visit the Grotto, a natural sea cave featuring beautiful blue waters nestled on the Georgian Bay shoreline in Bruce Peninsula. When they arrived, Nichola was eager to jump in, but Dylan suggested exploring the cliffs first. Nichola followed his lead despite feeling irritated. As they hiked the rocky cliffs, Nichola turned around to find Dylan on one knee with an engagement ring in hand.
ROMANTIC RIDE
As the newlyweds left the beach in the pouring rain to catch a helicopter ride, their guests tossed lavender seeds in the air. “The sun cleared on the most rainy day, for us to take a helicopter up and look over all of Tofino and the beautiful ancient forest beneath us,” shares the bride.

Jenny & Andrew
In 2019, Jenny and Andrew were both travelling on the same trip through Israel. At the end of their journey, Jenny returned to Canada and Andrew headed home to America, however, the two agreed to give long-distance dating a try. Nearly eight months later, the couple decided to move to South Korea together and teach abroad. After an intimate proposal in the couple’s small South Korean apartment, Jenny and Andrew planned to elope in the quiet romantic retreat of Storm Mountain Lodge.
PICNIC FOR TWO
After the ceremony, the newly married couple wandered into the mountains with their photographer, Blushed Beaute to capture the first moments as husband and wife. Instead of a traditional reception dinner, Jenny and Andrew shared an intimate picnic alone in nature surrounded by stunning snow capped peaks and a nearby lake.

Tayten + Mike
Thanks to a mutual friend, Tayten and Mike were set up and met at a local coffee shop where they instantly hit it off and chatted until closing time rolled around. After three dates and many missed cues on Tayten's part, Mike finally kissed Tayten, and she then realized he liked her as more than just a friend. To Mike's relief, she pulled him in for one more. Fast forward two years, Mike arranged a surprise proposal on a group camping trip with friends. Nearly everyone played a role sneaking around, distracting Tayten and helping find perfect locations. On the first morning after breakfast the group got ready for a hike intended to end at Rawson Lake in Kananaskis, where Mike intended to propose. To everyone's surprise, the trail had been closed due to grizzly bears in the area. Friends jumped to the rescue and came up with an alternate trek with a similarly stunning view. Tayten was none the wiser the entire time and didn't notice the abundance of cameras for an ordinary hike. When they stumbled upon the spot, Mike knew in his heart that this was the place and whispered to his friends. Some hid to capture the moment, some ushered others away and Mike tried to get his very soon-to-be fiance's attention. Tayten walked over to him, and then got distracted by the view and proceeded to take photos while he waited to pop the question. He finally regained her attention and knelt, asking her if she would do him the honour of marrying him. Cheers erupted and more than a few happy tears were shed after she of course said, “Yes.” The newly engaged couple celebrated with an escape to Kananaskis Mountain Lodge.
AUTHENTICALLY CAPTURED
Situated in the Bow Valley among acres of peaks, grasslands, and valleys, the couple exchanged vows that gave their ninety guests a glimpse into their relationship. After the ceremony, the bride and groom stepped away with their photographer and bridal party for candid moments to elicit memories for years to come.
ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Always appreciate the little moments. They are when you can truly tell that you are always loved. When arguing, remember that you are not against each other, but against the problem instead, and work towards finding the solution.”

Carlee + David
Although Carlee and David grew up a short five minutes from one another, the pair never crossed paths until years later at the Calgary Stampede. The world’s largest outdoor rodeo quickly became a day and place to remember. After four years of dating, David didn’t let the pandemic stop him from popping the question. One evening, Carlee and David decided to dress their best for dinner in hopes to enliven isolation. Knowing that Carlee wouldn’t enjoy a public proposal, David prepared a home-cooked meal and got down on one knee.
GOOD VIBES ONLY
After Carlee and David exchanged personal vows and sealed it with a kiss, the newlyweds celebrated their married status with a change of venue. Which meant including the couple’s dog, Archie, in the festivities. “We decided to shoot all of our photos before the ceremony so we could get the best sunlight, have a later ceremony, and enjoy cocktail hour with our friends and family. We wanted to bring fun energy from the ceremony to the reception, right after our ceremony we poured a champagne tower and handed them out to our guests,” shares the bride.

Celestina & Benjamin
Celestina and Benjamin's love story began in the twelfth grade when Benjamin transferred to Celestina’s high school. After running in the same circle of friends the pair became close which led to going to senior prom together and the rest is history. Eight years later, Benjamin's family was paying the couple a weekend visit in Victoria. After dropping them off at the ferry, Benjamin asked if Celestina wanted to go for a walk on the beach when they returned home. It conveniently started to rain on the drive so they stopped at their apartment for jackets, but in reality Benjamin had forgotten the ring. On the elevator ride back down to the car, Benjamin had a mischievous smile. Jokingly, Celestina began asking him if he was going to propose and patted down his pockets. Despite the look on Benjamin's face Celestina still had no idea what would happen next. However, Benjamin was convinced that she had felt the ring box, and decided that the proposal was happening right then and there. As Celestina walked out into the parkade she looked back and Benjamin was getting down on one knee. “He asked me to marry him, to which I of course said 'yes.' He then immediately asked me if we could still go reenact his original plan, a proposal and walk on the beach. It was perfectly imperfect!” Celestina recalls.
FIRST LOOK FEELINGS
“Our first look before the ceremony was absolutely perfect. It wasn't something we were originally going to do, but because of timing, it made the most sense. It was both nerve racking and comforting at the same time - we felt like we were on another planet just the two of us. Once we saw each other, any butterflies we had went away and we were just so excited to share the day with our friends and family.”
ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Don't sweat the small stuff and make sure to set aside some time during the day to enjoy the moment, just the two of you.”

Jessica + Matthew
Jessica and Matthew were introduced to each other during Jessica’s school break visit to Slave Lake. At the time, Matt was living there in the town of Slave Lake while Jessica resided in Edmonton. The pair continued to communicate through texting, and Matt began visiting Edmonton every month. After a year of dating, Matt moved to Edmonton to be closer to Jessica. Five years later, the couple celebrated their anniversary with a trip to Vancouver. “I remembered a year prior when Matt jokingly asked if I ever wanted a public proposal. I immediately said no and laughed it off. Little did I know that he would propose when it was just the two of us,” Jessica reminisces. As they were in their hotel room overlooking the harbour view, Matt got down on one knee and asked Jessica to marry him.
STORYBOOK ROMANCE
Jessica’s mother and father accompanied her down the stone paved aisle overlooking the Bow Valley. The bride and groom said “I do” at Silvertip Resort among forty of their closest friends and family, surrounded by vast mountain wilderness near the alpine village of Canmore. As the ceremony concluded, an unexpected snowfall proved to create an even more beautiful backdrop.

“It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed while planning, but it’s your wedding and will only happen once, so might as well do what is special and meaningful for both of you. And don’t forget to have fun on your wedding day!”
INSPIRATION
Vineyard Vows
If you and your soon-to-be spouse are considering tying the knot in the Fraser Valley, this styled inspiration is your sign. What was once a Christmas tree farm situated along the Campbell Valley Wine Route in Langley, is now Glass House Estate Winery, offering an al fresco setting overlooking the vineyards with white wine grapes as the backdrop. While we’ve said farewell to summer and warm weather weddings, autumn brings excitement all to its own. Lauren of Elyse & Co. and Miranda Anderson Photography took this as an opportunity to celebrate the change of seasons with a chic, countryside wedding.
Autumn is in the Air
The bride carried a bouquet of roses in shades of orange and dusty pink, ranunculus, local dahlias, lisianthus, and Plumosa Ferns. Inside the ceremony, floor to ceiling windows provide an abundance of light capturing the reflection of the landscape and sky. To complement the natural climbing grapevines, Heirloom Florals artfully crafted a flower chandelier in vibrant citrus tones coupled with soft greenery which hung effortlessly above the altar.
A Glamourous Grand Entrance
For the reception, the bride slipped into a secondlook gown from Bisou Bridal. Adorned with luxe bespoke rose gold beading and statement sleeves, we love this dramatic, high glamour ensemble by Australian designer, Kyha Studios. A tall, matte black stand proves that you can feature statement centrepieces with a minimalist approach. Instead of using traditional white candles in cylinder vases, Elyse & Co. incorporated multilevel candle vases with floating candles at each table.

Funky Fresh Affair
While we live in the 21st Century, the ‘70s are still very much alive. Positively bursting with a colourful palette, statement florals, vinyl records, and groovy details, this collaboration between Grey Lily Photography and Melissa Alison Events was dreamt up to inspire unconventional couples to plan their special day in a funky and fresh way. With stationery from Kenzie May Co, kick start your wedding journey and match the free-spirited vibe using modern, vintage-style font to make your names pop.
Mid-Century Modern
For a truly unique reception experience, Hue Florals created a stunning monochromatic bohoesque arrangement flowing down the centre of the sweetheart table. Mid-century glass goblets and gold rimmed dinnerware topped with a bold wine coloured menu were then complemented by champagne velvet napkins for a sleek finish.
Love is Brewing
Calgary is known for its unique history and rich culture, it’s also home to more than forty breweries, so you won’t go thirsty. Among the craft beer scene is Calgary’s newest addition, Tailgunner Brewing, located in the heart of the quaint tree-lined neighbourhood of Sunalta. Why not enjoy the evening with a Hazy Pale Ale in hand offering notes of citrus, pine, and brewed with 100% Alberta grains. For a sweet indulgence, Lemonberry Pastries designed a yellow vanilla caramel cake, coupled with crème brule, raspberry, and vanilla bean macarons. Passionfruit and caramel donuts were served on vinyl records while a record player pays homage to the retro elements of the era.

ROCK 'N ROLL LOVE
Gleaming on the harbourfront in the heart of the Shipyards District on Vancouver’s North Shore, The Polygon Gallery is a striking factory-like event venue where infrastructure is re-imagined. With an iconic saw-tooth profile in layers of mirrored stainless steel beneath expanded aluminum decking and a clean, contemporary aesthetic, the space speaks for itself. Inspired by the soft romantic nuptials we are accustomed to infused with a modern edge-setting side we are all wowed by, Powerful Moments Events curated this balance of upscale elegance and rock 'n roll grunge.
NOT YOUR AVERAGE ARCH
Sleek glass cylinders flank the aisle filled with simple, white candles that illuminate the ceremony and create a luxurious ambiance. Brimming with bold crimson blooms and organic greenery, the circular altar is anything but average. Vivio Flowers Gallery designed a floral focal point to frame the bride and groom as they exchange vows and say “I do.”
TOTALLY TIMELESS
For the reception, crisp white table linens fill the room with black tablecloths dripping off the sides. While the moody matte dinnerware and menu card certainly pop against the tablescape, it’s the bistro dining chairs that steal the show for a stunning contrast.
FASHION FORWARD BRIDE
Here comes the fashion-forward bride who’s ready to walk down the aisle like her own personal runaway. This statement mini, by O M Couture, is meant to have a moment of its own. The Zephyr gown makes her debut in effortlessly soft tulle, pleated detailing, and a sassy detachable train. For the fashionista looking to rock something completely nontraditional yet still super chic, then, say “Yes” to the dress of your dreams.

An Organic Oasis Awaits...
With the intention of bringing forth a fresh perspective to winter weddings, Brooklyn Nudd, of Simply T Events, drew inspiration from all things natural and organic. Far from rustic, Park by Sidewalk Citizen in Calgary's historic Central Memorial Park proved to be a contemporary space with an oasis of greenery and warmth for creating intimate memories. Captured by Keeley Joy Photography, hints of modern bohemianism were showcased through elements such as loose, wispy florals, handwoven seagrass placemats, and an utterly romantic bridal gown.
Down to Earth Details
Beneath the solarium’s wooden lattice and honeycomb structure, the bride and groom share a moment to themselves amongst the celebration. Natural simplicity breathes an air of ethereal romance to this down-toearth tablescape. Solid oatmeal linens and moss green napkins pair perfectly with the soft vegetation while the woodwork of the chairs seamlessly blend into the ceiling’s architectural details. A pale shade of blue can be seen in the sprawling centrepieces with varying lengths of untamed vines for a lovely display of movement.
Draped in Perfection
Tied with a Bow
With an A-line silhouette and oversized statement bow on the back, it’s easy to be enamoured by this timeless and classical look from Blush & Raven. A clean and crisp beauty, the princess-inspired gown features a sweetheart shaped neckline with dropped off-the-shoulder sleeves that flow to the back where a voluminous full skirt passes into a long fabulous train. The almost all-white bridal bouquet from Violet & Co. is a textured dream keeping the details interesting and classically effortless even with a monochromatic colour palette.
