A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Hello, Idaho! This past year, I had the privilege of stepping into the role of Idaho Editor, and what an honor it has been! I got to travel to new places, meet new faces and let me tell you - Idaho, you have completely stolen my heart. Thank you for welcoming me with open arms!

I feel so lucky to have guided this magazine into fruition, I hope you love it as much as I do! This edition is bursting at the seams with beautiful people, impressive vendor teams and insanely stunning wedding inspiration.

Obsess over the highland cows in Kennedy and Trevor’s engagement session, swoon over the scenic tablescape setting that graces our cover and delve into Grace and Joe’s natural, cream colored reception in Sun Valley.

Discover the beauty of Northern Idaho’s premier lakefront venue, with an immersive styled wedding at The Coeur d’Alene Golf and Spa Resort, brought to life by a dedicated team of local vendors. For the flower lovers out there, flip through our breakdown of all things bouquets and the pages of real weddings dripping with florals. Dog-ear the pages, draw giant stars with a hot pink marker, bring this book with you to meet with your vendors… However you intend to utilize this magazine, we are happy to be a part of the journey.

Happy planning, babes!

xo, Bailey

“The earth laughs in flowers.“

For as long as we can remember, couples have been incorporating fresh flowers into their wedding celebrations. However, recently, florals have taken an even bigger role at events. The colors, varieties and textures you select, in hand with your florist, create a personal style which completes your wedding day aesthetic while leaving a lasting impression on guests and in your photos. We teamed up with Emily of Soulflower Design Studio to showcase unique and trending bridal bouquets that will make a statement on your big day.

BOUQUET Baskets

Bouquet baskets, also known as floral clutches, are a fun and contemporary take on the bridal bouquet. Accessorize a sleek white mini dress at your springtime bridal shower with pops of pink, blush, dusty mauve and pale greens. Or, outfit your bridesmaids with them at your garden party inspired wedding. The chosen container can also serve as a chic gift for ladies to keep.

BOLD Blooms

Color is trending and we don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon. Couples have no fear when it comes to curating unexpected color palettes that provide energy for their wedding which is no longer just a celebration, but an experience. Soulflower Design Studio didn’t hold back with this colorful bouquet. As an ode to endless summer, she chose a blend of blue delphinium, Claire de Lune Peonies, orange and salmon ranunculus, Icelandic Poppies, Romantic Antique Garden Roses and lavender scabiosa. A bright merigold and pale blue ribbon completed the design.

“Life is the

flower

for which love is the honey.“

FASHION Forward

Brides and grooms are leaning into their fashion choices now more than ever. Every choice is a chance for them to give guests a glimpse into their personality, style and love story. If you’re a modern, fashion-forward bride planning a wedding with touches of elegance and sophistication, longstemmed bouquets made of orchids or roses is perfect for you. Here, Emily put together a timeless bouquet of champagne blush roses that complement the bride’s stylish crepe two-piece wedding gown designed by Maggie Sottero. Adorn your bridal party with the same bouquet for a crisp and clean look.

PETITE Bouquets

No longer are big and cascading wedding bouquets needed to make a statement. We’re seeing more and more brides choose petite bouquets that are subtle, simple and chic. They’re a great option for your rehearsal dinner if you’re wanting to provide guests a sneak peek into the wedding day. They are also easier to manage and allow for you and your wedding gown to take center stage.

“I must have flowers, always and always.“

WILD AT Heart

Organic and whimsical wedding bouquets have now entered the chat! This style of bouquet allows for florists to really showcase their artistry and have fun. Not to mention, they are extremely versatile. While here, it is shown with bright colors including yellow, orange, fuchsia, lavender and green, it can also be molded to fit a neutral color palette for a boho-inspired look or a romantic color palette of pinks, blushes and creams. Organic floral arrangements also add texture and dimension to your bridal look which then can easily transition into a table centerpiece for the reception.

MODERN Orchids

Orchids are taking over the bridal scene. With their distinct and strong appearance, they can add a modern and unique touch to your floral selection. Recreate this bouquet featuring hues of blush, mauve, dusty rose and green for a soft, feminine flair. This modern, yet adventurous bouquet would also suit a brideto-be saying “I do” at the downtown courthouse!

BEGINNINGS

KAMRIN

+ AUSTEN SMITHS FERRY

Kamrin and Austen met while working together at a local restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah. Kamrin as a hostess and Austen as a server. Kamrin, smitten from afar, had little interest in dating Austen even though they hung out nearly every weekend. That was until he rescued a German Shepherd, Lucy. The duo, Austen and Lucy, were now seen as irresistible in Kamrin’s eyes and she finally agreed to become an item with Austen. As Lucy continues to age, it was important to Kamrin to capture family photos to treasure forever. Kamrin, Austen and their two dogs, Lucy and Kora, ventured into the mountains of Idaho with photographer, Shelby Paige, setting the perfect scene for Austen to propose to the love of his life.

KENNEDY + TREVOR STAR

Kennedy and Trevor’s love story started with a friend’s introduction, sparked by laughter and tequila on a lively first date in 2020. Two years later, Trevor orchestrated a surprise proposal disguised as Christmas photos in the foothills of Boise. “After taking some individuals with the fur babies, I turned around and Trevor was on one knee. Of course I said, ‘YES!,’ the dogs barked and I screamed to nearby hikers that I was engaged,” Kennedy reminisces. But, the surprise didn’t end there. Trevor had arranged for Kennedy’s best friend to set up a romantic dinner at their home to celebrate, complete with candles and their favorite songs playing in the background. For their engagement photos, Kennedy and Trevor, lifelong Idahoans, enlisted photographer, Kayla Lucio Photo, to capture their roots. “My best memories are being surrounded by horses, pastures, livestock and family. It was so beautiful to celebrate our love in a place that represents so much,” shares Kennedy.

BOGUS BASIN

VICTORIA + PARKER

Victoria and Parker met at a waterpark during their teenage years. However, it wasn’t until they both swiped right nearly ten years later that they decided to meet up for their first official date. It wouldn’t be long before they realized there was something special between them. Fast forward a year and a half into their relationship, Parker felt it was the perfect moment to take the next big step. On a family trip to Hawaii, Parker got down on one knee during family photos with a beautiful sunset and ocean backdrop. Contrary to their proposal, Victoria and Parker wanted their engagement photos to take place in the snow which made Bogus Basin the ideal spot. With the lens of Shaina KH Photography capturing their love, they toasted with champagne against the backdrop of Treasure Valley where they call home.

DELLA

+ TIM

Della and Tim’s love story began at a Super Bowl party in 2020. Tim jokingly claims it was love at first bite when they both reached for the same chicken wing. Despite speaking only briefly, Della couldn’t forget him. A few months later, they ran into each other at a local music festival, where they talked for hours drowning out the crowd that surrounded them. Two and half years into their relationship, Tim proposed on what appeared to be a casual walk with their two dogs, just how Della had always envisioned.

To celebrate their engagement, Della and Tim decided to take their dogs and horses to the gorgeous trails that back up to their home. A location that holds special significance to them, symbolizing the countless walks they have taken together and the countless more they envision in their future. Golden aspen groves and radiant sunlight set the scene as photographer, Peter Lobozzo, captured their love story. Wrapping up the session, the pair ventured to a tranquil spot along the river where Tim had spent his childhood learning how to fish.

BAILEY + WILL SMITHS FERRY // BRIDALS

Bailey and Will first met back in 2016 when they were both working at Chipotle. Their workplace dynamic quickly evolved into a sizzling romance. Six years later, on September 17, 2022, a warm Sunday morning, Will proposed to Bailey. “We spent the morning at the farmer’s market and decided to go on a walk by the Boise River after. We stumbled across a spot we spent time at on one of our first dates and Will got down on one knee,” Bailey reminisces. Of course, Bailey said, “Yes!” and the two enlisted Kortney J. REAL WEDDINGS

kat & carl

Kat and Carl were first introduced back in 2014, however, it wasn’t until they ran into each other again in 2017 that they realized they had a striking similarity; both came from families deeply rooted in apple farming. In the beginning weeks of their relationship, the song “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton quickly arose as “their song,” creating the ideal moment for Carl to propose at his concert four years later. Knowing their type of love was the forever kind, they were in no rush to tie the knot. Kat and Carl decided to host a destination elopement in Stanley with just ten family members present.

With details being of utmost importance, Kat hired Emily Aitken Events to bring her vision of a timeless outdoor “I do” to life featuring sentimental moments throughout.

The Sawtooth Mountains provided a serene backdrop to the intimate ceremony and candlelit dinner adorned with beautiful white roses and baby’s breath. Kat shares, “It was so exhilarating to be out in the open with such beautiful views, eating dinner together in the middle of a field on the mountainside! We got to drink champagne and watch the sunset and later dance around a bonfire under the stars.

It was everything I could have wanted.”

After celebrating well into the night in their pajamas, the couple spent the night under the stars in their camper van before heading off the next morning on their adventure honeymoon across Wyoming and Montana.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Remember what matters most to you both about your wedding day. Ask yourselves what moments do you want to take away from your special day? Whatever the answer is, plan your wedding around that. Don’t worry about people-pleasing or the day going perfect. There will always be hiccups and some things are out of your control. Do not forget what’s truly important.”

kelsey & alex

Kelsey and Alex met in the summer of 2017 while sitting on the rooftop of their favorite restaurant in Boise. After bantering back and forth across the bar top, Alex finally got the courage to formally introduce himself. Since that moment, the pair have journeyed together through various seasons of life including adding a sweet goldendoodle to their family. In May of 2022, Alex proposed to Kelsey on the beach of Oranjestad, Aruba. “Alex told me that we were given a free photoshoot since the resort made a mistake with other reservations. Spoiler Alert; the vacation was all perfectly choreographed, from a private dinner the first night to the photoshoot surprise proposal night two,” shares Kelsey. A year later, they celebrated with 110 of their friends and family at Tamarack Resort featuring a garden party aesthetic.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Get a good wedding planner. I think it’s a privilege to look back on the wedding planning process and wedding day with positive thoughts. It sounds almost too good to be true but Ivory & Sage Events made the wedding planning process fun and never stressful. Alex and I received multiple compliments from our guests stating it was ‘the best wedding they’d ever been to.’ This is because of Courtney and her team. Alex and I could actually enjoy our day instead of worrying about the comfort of our guests because we knew Ivory & Sage Events had that covered.”

Three things stood out to Kelsey when planning her dream Idaho “I dos”: flowers, a late night snack and dancing the night away. All three were achieved thanks to the help of the couple’s incredible vendor team. From the chapel ceremony to the farewell Sunday brunch, Two Hands Floral decorated the weekend with a plethora of green and white florals so the couple and guests felt like they were always surrounded by a piece of the outdoors. To ensure she could enjoy all the pizza she wanted and boogie with her husband all night long, Kelsey slipped out of her custom satin gown by Kate’s Bridal Cottage into a sheer maxi dress from Retrofête.

ABOVE AND BEYOND

Vlad and the Radion Photography Team! Simply put, Alex gets stiff in professional photos. He has a hard time smiling normal or feeling comfortable. Our first engagement photoshoot with Vlad took place at Chateau des Fleurs in Eagle. I had rented a Porche Speedster replica from Chandra’s Classic Cars and I could tell Alex was feeling a bit overwhelmed. Immediately, Vlad’s energy was relaxed and comforting, putting us all at ease. On the wedding day, Vlad and his team worked closely with Courtney to move in and out of each moment organically, capturing moments from our wedding I hadn’t even known had happened. The team stayed all the way through the after party to get shots right up until the end of the night. As a last special touch, Radion Photography left Alex and I a bundle of Polaroids from the day so we immediately had special prints from our wedding to share the next morning. For Christmas, Vlad worked with my parents to surprise Alex and I with the most beautiful photo album. To say this was a photo album is a understatement. This was a gourgeously crafted bespoke hardcover photo book which will be cherished for years to come. Again, my last shout out has to go to Vlad and the Radion Photography Team, thank you so much for capturing our relationship throughout 2023!

sydney & rory

Rory and Sydney’s story began their Freshman year of college at University of California, Berkeley, when the pair was introduced at a dinner the night before moving into their dorm rooms. Rory’s mom and Sydney’s dad also met, humorously fast-tracking through the “meeting the parents” milestone before officially becoming a couple. While Sydney had imposed a strict rule regarding their engagement, Rory had no intentions of playing by the rules. He secretly asked his mother to use his late grandmother’s ring and stealthily escaped to San Diego, California, to ask Sydney’s dad’s permission for her hand in marriage. Two weeks later, Rory set the plan in motion. Down by Swan Lake at the famous Hotel Bel Air, Rory got down on one knee to ask Sydney to be his forever. She, of course, said, “Yes!” and their families sprang out to help them celebrate the momentous occasion.

Sydney and Rory added a unique and customized design element to their wedding weekend by working with Denise with Something Lettered Designs to craft a monogram logo specifically for them. Sydney described this as one of their most cherished personal touches from the celebration. A watercolor version graced the wedding invitations while a simpler version was featured on the welcome bags and hats which guests continue to sport to this day. Wedding monograms are a beautiful representation of your special day and new life as one!

Rory and Sydney planned an elevated and organic summer wedding weekend in the nostalgic town of McCall featuring a color palette of lavender, light blue and sage green. “In McCall, memories are everywhere: carefree days on the lake, hiking in Ponderosa Park and enjoying ice cream at Ice Cream Alley. Our decision to orchestrate a full weekend of festivities throughout McCall wasn’t just about a celebration; it was an invitation for our guests to immerse themselves wholly in the enchanting essence of this place, a tribute to the multifaceted beauty of McCall, and the cherished memories that have made it an integral part of our family’s story,” shares Sydney. From a colorful sunset inspired bridal brunch and a dockside cocktail hour and welcome party to a picturesque ceremony at Whitetail Club, planner and designer, Ira & Lucy, helped the couple bring their dream wedding weekend vision to life.

SECOND-LOOK

In the middle of the reception, I changed into my mom’s wedding dress, which she had worn 32 years earlier for her own McCall wedding. I had this sentimental piece tailored into a chic mini dress for the occasion. We totally surprised my dad and it was so special to see the look on his face when he realized I was wearing my mom’s dress.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“The best planning decision we made was to follow Rory’s dad’s advice to not sweat the details—the only part of the wedding people will remember is how happy the bride and groom were. We made it our mission to have the time of our lives and, thankfully, everything turned out beyond our expectations and we genuinely had as much fun as the photos convey.”

megan & david

Megan and David met when they attended college together at Boise State University. Five years into their relationship, David planned a surprise proposal. As frequent models in the wedding industry, it made it easy to set up a staged photo shoot that Megan wouldn’t be suspicious of. When the couple arrived on scene, the words “Marry Me” were set up as the perfect backdrop for the “She said ‘Yes!’ moment!” Megan and David went on to plan an elegant summer wedding for 165 guests in The Grand Galerie at Chateau des Fleurs with a classic white and gold color palette.

With Chateau des Fleurs providing a charming, Old-World European aesthetic featuring breathtaking crystal chandeliers, distinguished architectural details throughout and a lush garden, the couple was able to focus on the things that mattered most to them. Striking white baby’s breath, roses and hydrangeas were used to line the ceremony aisle and form a stunning arch where Megan recalls the highlight of the day occurred saying, “We paused for the length of a song and our parents came up to the altar, prayed for us and then we all took communion together.” Afterwards, they danced the night away to an epic playlist curated by DJ Rahkeem.

MIDDLETON // AUGUST 12

Brynn and Isaac were a rare tale of love at first sight. After a long distance introduction via mutual friends, the pair met up for a weekend getaway at a friend’s cabin in Coeur d’Alene.

It was just a year and a half later that Isaac planned an impromptu proposal. Instead of proposing during a family vacation in Maui after receiving Brynn’s dad’s blessing, Isaac got down on one knee on Brynn’s birthday in their kitchen, just the two of them! The newly engaged couple wanted to recreate the feeling of intimacy and love just like they felt in that very moment. They planned a formal garden party wedding at Willow Creek Wedding & Event Venue which offered a cozy, timeless and nature-filled scene for their celebration.

With dreams of an abundance of flowers, Brynn and her mom enlisted Two Hands Floral to bring their vision to life. The ceremony aisle was lined with hues of lavender, soft pinks and creams which transitioned into beautiful reception decor. Brynn glided effortlessly down the floral lined aisle to her soon to be husband in a Danielle Frankel silk wool wedding gown featuring wilted, long sleeves and a draped low back. Their vows would forever be etched in their minds as the day’s most cherished moment as they held hands and recited to one another sacred promises of love and devotion. After an enchanting evening filled with love, laughter and dancing, the newlyweds savored a final private last dance before exiting under a shower of rose petals to a romantic Rolls Royce getaway.

Our photographer was so important to us. Chloe and I went to college together and it was so sweet to have a familiar face behind the camera. We both don’t love taking pictures and we wanted them to feel very natural and not posed and Chloe and Sophie did such an amazing job. We both felt so relaxed and we love every single picture and film shot they got. Allie, our wedding planner took care of everything and I did not have a care in the world that day. She made sure there were no problems and always had a drink or snack in our hands. She was so comforting before heading down the aisle when the nerves were coming and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else there. Our food was the best food I had ever tasted. Horsewood Catering was amazing and I would eat their food everyday if I could.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Just remember it is about such a sweeter thing than a day. It is about a commitment of two individuals becoming one. Count it all as joy every step of the way and remember that regardless of how it goes, you get to be with the one you love and the one who you are choosing for all of the days to come. Focus on a few important things and let the rest go. Have fun in the process and make memories!”

Traci & pilgrim

Traci and Pilgrim’s love story began in an unconventional way… through Instagram. After attending an overland expo, Traci came across Pilgrim’s Instagram account which featured beautiful photography of the outdoors in his overlanding explorations. However, there were no photos of himself. After a few years of liking one another’s photos, Pilgrim reached out to Traci to ask for advice. Little did he know, the courage to send this direct message would lead to an unexpected journey to falling in love. A year and a half into their relationship, the couple flew to Sun Valley to pick up Pilgrim’s sprinter van that had been undergoing a rebuild. On their drive back to Utah, they stopped to camp by Gold Fork Hot Springs. Before heading out from their campsite, they went snowshoeing along the river. During this adventure, Pilgrim, with tears in his eyes, got down on one knee to ask Traci to be his wife and she said “Yes!,” also with tears in her eyes.

grace & joe

It was five years ago that Grace and Joe crossed paths for the first time. Joe was hosting a party at his place in San Francisco, California, and Grace tagged along with a mutual friend at the last minute. Talk about a great decision! Four years later, Joe got down on one knee at the beach with the Golden Gate Bridge as the backdrop. To celebrate, he booked them a stay up the coastline at Timber Cove Resort, one of their favorite getaways. The newly engaged couple went on to plan an elevated-casual wedding in Joe’s family’s backyard with an emphasis on the natural elements of a warm fall day.

With the mountain peaks serving as a picturesque backdrop, Grace and Joe said “I do” in the same location his sister did ten years prior. And, to make the moment even more memorable, his sister officiated their wedding just as Joe did for her. Florist, Kacie of Bloom Theory, adorned the aisle with floral arrangements inspired by the rich colors of autumn while guests witnessed their vows upon natural wooden benches. Kacie shared, “Different grasses were foraged from the area to make sure it felt organic and blended with the scenery. The property was in the perfect state of seasonal transition, so we captured that palette and added pops of color with golden mustard roses, dahlias and limelight hydrangeas.” Afterward, the newlyweds celebrated with their family and friends in an open-air tent so guests could enjoy the incredible views and weather. The elongated reception tables were adorned with stunning linens, place settings and florals of creamy natural hues which allowed the couple and scenery to be the focal point of the evening.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Make it your own. Our wedding felt so ‘us’ and that was really special.”

love on the lake

Located in northwest Idaho is a vibrant lake town offering the perfect blend of small-town charm and bigcity atmosphere known as Coeur d’Alene. Surrounded by magnificent mountain views, lies The Coeur d’Alene Golf and Spa Resort, a luxury lakeside location for you and your fiancé to start your forever at. Patina Events, Table Du Jour and the Director of Weddings at The Coeur d’Alene Resort came together to plan a garden party editorial inspired by the unmatched amenities and unforgettable venues.

Start the day with your bridal party getting ready in The Resort’s Hagadone Suite which offers floor-to-ceiling glass windows, two terraces and 2,500 square feet of contemporary space for you to enjoy unforgettable moments with your gals. Sip on bubbly and snap photos with a portable photo booth from Electric Photoland while you’re pampered by your beauty team. The natural light and sweeping views of the lake make for perfect photo opps!

While many couples opt for outdoor weddings in a beautiful place like Coeur d’Alene, the local vendor team wanted to show off the beauty that can be created inside by designing a stunning ceremony in the Hagadone Event Center. This glass encased venue offers incredible lakefront views with retractable doors for an option of an indoor-outdoor celebration. In order for the views to still take center stage, florist, Pearl and Tin, lined the aisle with green, peach and yellow floral arrangements.

Jump aboard a Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruise boat for a celebratory ride with your wedding party. Enjoy the breeze and take in the views. This cruise boat can also serve as an intimate ceremony site if you choose! Upon your return, mingle with your guests dockside and be sure to capture some lakeside photos with your family and friends as the sun sets in the background. While you’re enjoying your first moments as newlyweds, your vendor team will magically transform the Hagadone Event Center into the reception of your dreams.

A white and wood-tone checkered dance floor was crafted to complement the garden party aesthetic. With romantic drapery hung from the cathedral ceilings, a live performance by musician, Jerry Lee Raines, and a surprise change into an evening gown, the newlyweds share their first dance as husband and wife.

As guests enter the space, they are greeted by a wicker basket seating chart and a colorful charcuterie spread which is a nod to a picnic one may enjoy in a lush outdoor setting. Bring the garden party vibes inside by setting up lounge areas throughout the reception space encouraging intimate conversation and a place to enjoy casual bites.

Lining the rim of the reception space, elongated tables were adorned with gold silverware, beige linen napkins and colorful floral arrangements. Candles and miniature table lamps added a romantic ambiance as guests are seated for a formal dinner catered by the talented chefs at The Coeur d’Alene Golf and Spa Resort. Finally, cut into the four-tiered wedding cake surrounded by a meadow of flowers to stay in theme. Pastry and More baked this masterpiece featuring four delectable flavors including lemon chiffon, cherry chip, red velvet and vanilla chiffon.
