Matthew + Jesús Matthew and Jesús share the same goals and aspirations: building a secure life, starting a family, marriage and sharing everything solely with someone special. These shared interests led to a mutual friend setting them up on a dinner date, and they have been inseparable ever since.

One of Matthew and Jesús’ favorite past times when the weather is nice is hiking. One sunny Sunday afternoon, Matthew packed a picnic with sandwiches, a small bottle of prosecco, two glasses and a box with the ring. He wanted to propose when it was least expected to make it special. It was their first-time hiking Apache Creek, and about halfway through, they found a nice spot in the shade to have their picnic. As Jesús was getting up to start packing up to leave, Matthew got on one knee and asked Jesús to marry him. After a moment of shock and surprise he said yes! Emily Kaye + David Emily Kaye and David met during the fall of 2016 when Emily Kaye moved to Santa Fe for a job. David’s close friend and future best man, Ronaldo, worked for the same company, so naturally he introduced Emily Kaye and David. While it took Emily Kaye a little while to come around to the idea of meeting David for a tour of Santa Fe, she was on a new adventure. Before she knew it, Emily Kaye and David were spending every free moment together hiking, camping, drinking craft beer and going on road trips to Colorado and Louisiana. Suddenly they were mad for each other! Three years later, David sent Emily Kaye on a treasure hunt date around Santa Fe. He texted her after work saying he left a surprise for her on the patio, which was a clue to start the treasure hunt. The rules were that she had to take a selfie with each clue she found and had to complete the mission before 6:30. After visiting their favorite spots around town, Emily Kaye was led home to candles, roses and romantic music playing while David was on one knee with the most beautiful diamond ring.

POCKETS OF JOY
Emily Kaye and David planned a whimsical desert wedding for June 4th. Emily Kaye is not sure what moment was her favorite: leaving the church officially as David’s wife or when her grandparents surprised them with a mariachi band upon entering the reception. Despite the ups and down of planning a wedding during a global pandemic, their wedding turned into a magical day filled with tears and pockets of joy throughout.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“What makes the day perfect is not in the details or in how everything is going according to schedule, it’s in the family and person you chose to marry. Do whatever you can to design a day that is about you and the one you love.”

Dana + Andrew Dana and Andrew met on New Years Eve in 2012. Their respective best friends were neighbors, so while Dana was celebrating with her best friend, she wandered next door to Andrew’s best friend’s house and the two immediately hit it off. Although they formed an instant connection, they did not see each other until a year later when Andrew transferred to the same university as Dana. Dana worked up the courage to ask Andrew out and they quickly fell in love, but time was not on their side as they both were about to leave to study abroad. The two decided to do long distance, and after graduation, they moved out west to New Mexico. Dana and Andrew fell in love with the mountains and their love grew intimately in the quiet calm of New Mexico. As Dana and Andrew fell in love with the mountains and quiet calm of New Mexico, their love only continued to blossom. Five years after their first date, they went on a hike in their new hometown of Austin, Texas followed by a picnic in the park where Andrew asked Dana to marry him.

ANCESTRAL TRADITIONS
The pair planned a sunset desert chic wedding on July 10th at Hacienda Doña Andrea de Santa Fe. While COVID-19 ruined their original wedding plans, Dana and Andrew did not let that stop them from celebrating their love with the people closest to them. Sharing their vows amongst a backdrop of clouds that held off rain until right after the ceremony was surreal. They chose to incorporate dabke, traditional Lebanese dancing, and readings from Khalil Gibran, Dana’s ancestor.

WHY THE ROCKIES
“The Rockies is the place our love grew the most. Although we moved to New Mexico a year into dating, it is the place where we learned how to be adults and care for each other as a team. It felt only fitting to bring all of our closest friends and family to the breathtaking place that connected us.”

Carolione + Kevin Caroline and Kevin had known each other since high school, but did not reconnect until their Sophomore year in college. Their friendship was always fun, but they never dreamed of getting married. Kevin took Caroline completely by surprise, but once they hit it off as more than friends, she fell fast and hard. Caroline thinks that relationships built on the foundation of friendship helps to make them last, and without a doubt Caroline and Kevin are each other’s best friends above all else.

-REAL WEDDING-
Caroline and Kevin planned a July 17th wedding at La Posada de Santa Fe. They find it hard to pin down a favorite moment of the day because of how much fun they had celebrating with their friends and family. They chose to incorporate a wedding crest, specifically designed for them by Pearly Gates Design, a local artist in their hometown. Caroline and Kevin dug into the blue and white Mexican tile theme by using talavera vases, custom table linens and tent draping cut and sewed by Caroline’s dad. Fun elements like a hedge wall seating chart from A Beautiful Theme and tequila donkey completed their perfect Santa Fe wedding day.

- RANCH -
EL RANCHO DE LAS GOLONDRINAS El Rancho de las Golondrinas (The Ranch of the Swallows) a historic rancho and now a living history museum, was strategically located on the Camino Real, the Royal Road that extended from Mexico City to Santa Fe. The ranch provided goods for trade and was a place where the caravans that plied the road would stop on their journey coming from or going to Santa Fe. It was a paraje, an official rest stop for travelers, and was even mentioned by the great military leader and governor, Don Juan Bautista de Anza, when he stopped here with his expeditionary force in 1780. El Rancho de las Golondrinas, located on 200 acres in a rural farming valley just south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, strives to maintain examples of life during the period when Spain ruled in the southwestern portion of the North and most of the Central American continent. The museum opened in 1972 and is dedicated to the history, heritage and culture of 18th and 19th century New Mexico. Original buildings on the site date from the early 1700s.

ELDORADO HOTEL Eldorado Hotel & Spa is an unique AAA Four-Diamond-rated Santa Fe hotel that shares the story of Eldorado, the search for the lost city of gold, with a modern twist. Located just steps away from the historic Santa Fe Plaza, the thrill of discovery is met with true reward, celebrating centuries of tradition and culture in a bold new expression of design and creativity. Paying homage to the hotel’s namesake, exchange vows in La Capilla de Oro, The Chapel of Gold, featuring a simplistic and modern design with gold elements sought by Spanish explorers in their search for Eldorado. The chapel seats 150 guests and offers a bridal suite and dramatic vestibule entrance. Another ceremony site is the Roof Top Presidential Balcony with sweeping views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and city’s renowned downtown. For your reception, step into the largest ballroom in Santa Fe, the Eldorado Grand Ballroom, which can seat up to 500 guests.
