STUNNING, EMOTIONAL, AND REAL MEMORIES You should be able to look back in 60 years and remember exactly how you felt on your wedding day. You've found your person – why jeopardize your memory of this day? Too often, couples regret getting a photographer that only took pretty pictures that didn’t show emotion and robbed them of the moment. They didn’t think about their legacy. I want to give you something better. A mixture of magazine worthy images that actually tell your story to keep your love strong for the rest of your life. You don’t deserve anything less.

Elopement + Micro Wedding Photography

Oh, Idaho! What a year it’s been. With limited traveling and staying close to home, I’ve been lucky enough to rediscover all of the beautiful places that neighbor my home state of Montana. A road trip to Coeur d’Alene during the fall as the colors were changing throughout Lookout Pass is one of my favorite memories. It’s almost as though I was seeing everything for the first time perspective is everything and sometimes it takes life slowing down to realize how lucky we all are. To you all; wedding vendors, brides + grooms, our team here at RMB, I’m so proud of everything we have conquered over the past year and a half. A true sentiment to what this is all really about - love. The upcoming pages showcase the beauty of Idaho and all it’s wonderful places and people. The real love stories featured in this magazine prove to us all that love is never canceled. From an intimate elopement in Sun Valley to a fun-filled fare in Garden Valley - there is so much beauty throughout the Gem State. Not only will you be meeting Idaho brides, just like you, but you’ll also be introduced to the vendors who brought their dreams to life. So, take notes of the couples’ advice and be inspired by the creativity within the pages ahead. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

weave GOLD

In 2011, Kyra Bernauer designed her first pair of handmade beaded earrings. Kyra’s passion for art and craftsmanship started at a young age with sewing, embroidery and painting. But it wasn’t until Kyra’s friend introduced her to bead weaving that her heart truly ignited. From there, while ‘Wizard’ by Mariee Sioux played in the background, Weave Gold was born. Kyra heard the lyrics, “Wizard, weave gold,” enthralled and inspired with the idea that there is beauty in imperfection similar to flaws in handcrafted art. These aesthetic errors are the key to originality and represent a sense of weaving gold to the owner and designer of the popular jewelry brand. Every piece of jewelry is delicately crafted and handwoven in Boise by Kyra, herself.

- local finds -

THE BRIDAL COLLECTION The Bridal Collection pieces were designed with brides in mind while still prioritizing everyday use time and time again even after the special day. Kyra created Crystal, a whimsical statement earring handmade with crystal white glass seed beads, accented with 22 karat gold beads for the perfect finishing touch. Each element, from the shape to the color, manifests pure artistry and fashion.

Savannah + Zeb / Stanley

Savannah and Zeb attended the same high school, Zeb was an upperclassman, while Savannah was an incoming freshman. The high school crush didn’t blossom into a relationship until later that year when the pair won homecoming court and claimed their titles as king and queen. Since that day they have been inseparable, or as they say, the rest is history.

One morning, Zeb planned a sunrise breakfast overlooking the Sawtooth Range to ask the big question before heading home, something totally normal for them to do. Doing his best to weave the surprise into ordinary activities, he suggested bringing a tripod to capture photos, Savannah a professional wedding photographer, happened to have her equipment with her. As they parked the car along the dirt road, Savannah ventured out into a quiet field, Zeb followed closely behind carrying a handmade wooden box, crafted by his grandfather. He pulled Savannah aside saying, “There’s a little something I want to do before we make breakfast,” and dropped to one knee. Zeb proposed with the help of Kylie Morgan Photography capturing the blissful utopia.

Heather + Kevin / Bruneau Dunes State Park

After meeting in college through a mutual friend, Heather and Kevin began dating but physically spent a period of time apart, due to the distance between Idaho and California. Kevin lived in Boise, while Heather was finishing school on the West Coast. Fast forward to the summer of 2019, Heather moved to Boise to be with Kevin permanently. The college sweethearts were destined to have a proposal story that would rival those in the greatest romantic movie scenes. About two and a half years later, Heather had returned from California after visiting family, as she walked outside to be picked up, she was greeted by Kevin and their dalmatian puppy. Written in paint on the car windows read, “Hey Mom, can we keep him?” Initially confused by the question, it was there that Kevin got down on one knee and asked Heather to marry him!

SWEET CEREMONY

“The whole day was so amazing it’s hard to pick a favorite part, but I would say that the ceremony was probably my favorite. It was such a tender and sweet moment that I will never forget. My husband’s favorite part was also the ceremony, but more specifically it was seeing me walk down the aisle with my dad. It was a ceremony that we had always dreamed of. It could not have turned out more perfect.”

Alexis +Eric G A R D E N VA L L E Y

Alexis and Eric met while both living in Georgia; Alexis was in dental school, Eric in medical school. Their story began when Alexis went on a date with a friend of Eric’s, but she found herself being drawn to Eric. A month later, Alexis came across Eric’s Facebook profile and sent him a message asking, “Backstreet Boys or NSYNC?” Thankfully, Eric knew the right answer, and responded by saying, “Backstreet’s Back.” Four and a half years later, Eric planned an intimate and darling proposal. As they were cooking dinner for Alexis’ birthday weekend, Eric got down on one knee and popped the question. They planned a rustic chic wedding for July 18th.

Leah +Dorian COEUR D’ALENE Leah’s brother brought Dorian and her together. Dorian began his college career playing football at the University of Idaho with Leah’s brother, Zach. The two were convinced they would never develop feelings for each other, however much to their surprise an authentic love story sparked in 2015. To propose, Dorian recruited the help of family and friends. Dorian played off the fact that his grandparents had a photo gallery wall and needed a picture of the couple to add to the collection, Leah happily agreed, not thinking anything of it. Leah’s friend even took on the role of photographer. The pair found themselves back at the same golf course where they first spent time together, five years earlier. As they strolled down the fairway to a nearby pond, their friend Alyssa, began capturing photos. Dorian turned to Leah getting down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The group returned to the house to find family and friends had gathered to celebrate. Leah and Dorian planned a classic black and white wedding for August 1st.

L O V E F L O AT S

Leah and Dorian tied the knot on Lake Coeur d’Alene with shimmering waters reflecting in the distance and views of North Idaho forests. The couple followed an elegant black-tie theme, accented by white roses, lush greenery, and romantic globe string lights. Leah and Dorian’s first dance to “Be Enough” by Alicia Keys, set off a night of non-stop dancing and partying. “Dance-offs took place, not one person was in their seat,” recalls the bride and groom. The reception ended when the boat arrived back at the dock, to which Leah and Dorian made a grand exit under a human tunnel created by their guests.

Kelly + Jeff N A M PA

Kelly and Jeff met while attending medical school in North Carolina. After graduating, the two medical students were matched into residency programs together in Boise. Five years into dating, Jeff planned a summer hike at Bogus Basin with two of their close friends. Kelly was post call from a 24-hour shift, not knowing the pair’s greatest adventure was about to unfold. The group took a chairlift up to the green and wildflower filled trails. Once at the top, overlooking the beautiful scenery that Boise had to offer, Jeff got down on one knee and proposed. Kelly and Jeff planned a romantic outdoor wedding for September 5th.

From the florals designed by Rust & Thistle to the invitation suite from Paper Culture, light and airy elements set the tone for a beautifully romantic celebration. With colors of soft pink, gold flatware, and wood farmhouse tables under natural light created a relaxed space for the bride and groom to interact with those around them.

HOME SWEET HOME

“Boise has been our home for 3 years. It is Kelly’s favorite place in the country. We love the foothills, the food, and the people. There is no better place to call home, this is where we wanted to start our lives together as husband and wife.”

Madeline +Tyler S U N VA L L E Y

Like many modern-day love stories, Madeline and Tyler met on an online dating app. A swipe right eventually led to a life-long partner, and the rest is history! Two years later, the adventurous couple took off for a nature viewing drive in the Sawtooth Range. The element of surprise unfolded when Tyler asked Madeline to step outside the car for a picture with the soaring jagged mountain peaks. Right there in the middle of the open road Tyler popped the question. They planned an earthy neutral wedding for September 12th.

Madeline and Tyler wrote their own vows, that included heartfelt words bringing them to tears. They showed their most vulnerable selves, vowing eternal love in front of ten close family members and friends. Madeline made the last minute decision to ditch her traditional white gown for a wildly beautiful powder blue dress.

Kalli and AJ met in junior high and dated through high school. The pair continued dating long distance for two years while AJ was attending college in Florida. Kalli soon made her way down to the sunshine state to continue her career as a hairstylist and of course be reunited with her high school sweetheart. Fast forward seven years, the couple was living in Idaho. Kalli and AJ planned a trip to Clearwater Beach, Florida for a relaxing weekend getaway. One evening before their dinner reservation, AJ suggested taking a walk along the water. As they were reminiscing about their relationship, Kalli caught a glimpse of a small flower arch accompanied by two chairs and blankets surrounded with roses. Right as they reached the darling set up, AJ asked Kalli to marry him, and she happily agreed! Suddenly, a photographer, AJ’s parents, and Kalli’s best friend appeared from the bushes, who AJ had secretly flown out for the occasion to celebrate with. Kalli and AJ planned a modern boho wedding for September 24th.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES “Enjoy the moment because it’s gone in a blink of an eye. It’s true when people say you almost have a blackout experience on your wedding day because it goes by so fast. Everything will turn out perfect and hire the photographer! You most likely won’t have time to enjoy all the details on your big day.”

Jules + Vlad / Coeur d’Alene

Jules and Vlad first met unexpectedly at a local Starbucks. Weeks later, they had a second encounter, this time at The Coeur d’Alene Resort, known for its idyllic landscape, year-round activities and friendly downtown lakeside atmosphere. The duo instantly hit it off and quickly became inseparable. As they bid summer adieu and moved into the autumn season, their friendship evolved into a darling relationship. That same year, Vlad gifted Jules a lovely promise ring. Nine months into dating, Vlad organized a scavenger hunt for Jules, the kind that involves intimate memories and reflects romantic nostalgia. After three different locations the night came to an end with a note, “If you’d like to spend the rest of your life with me, make your way up the stairs and join me.” Without hesitation Jules dashed to the top, catching sight of Vlad standing in the center of a heart shape made from rose petals and beaming candlelight. In that moment, Vlad proposed. Jules and Vlad celebrated six years of marriage with a breathtaking anniversary session at The Coeur d’Alene Resort.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES “Open communication and honesty is key. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable with each other and share your deepest thoughts. There is something so special in doing that. Put the other person first. And never stop dating each other. It’s the little things that paint the bigger picture.”

Liz + Jake / Preston

Liz and Jake met through mutual friends at a rodeo. Over the next six years, patience and persistence kept Jake on his toes as he asked Liz out regularly. Looking back he remembers thinking, “Man, usually I can take a hint, but there was just something about her.” After years of resisting, Liz finally caved and agreed to a first date and never looked back. A year into dating, Liz headed up north to Riverdale from her Salt Lake City, Utah girls’ trip to help Jake and his family friends with branding cattle. Deciding to surprise Jake, Liz arrived earlier than expected. Jake seemed a little disconcerted at the early arrival, but that didn’t stop Liz from jumping right in to lend a hand. The branding was coming to an end when the couple’s friends urged Liz to help doctor one of the calves. As instructed, Liz checked the twine around the calves neck and noticed a green ear-tag attached with writing. She read, “Liz, will you marry me?” Jake walked up behind her and got down on one knee to propose. Liz and Jake will celebrate five years of marriage in September. The pair celebrated this special milestone with an anniversary session in the place that means the most, their home in Idaho, along with their two dogs and ten horses that pasture on the property.

Sami Jo and Chase celebrated four and a half years of marriage with the help of photographer, Lemon & Honey. The couple commemorated this sweet milestone at Chase’s family ranch in New Meadows letting their love and roots shine.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES “Take time to do the little things. Work will always be there, but your time won’t. Also, travel as often as you can, it doesn’t matter if it’s to the backyard with a tent and a stack of cards, just make memories!”
