Dear Members of the Rosemont College Community, I am writing today to say good-bye and to thank you. Over the past several weeks, I have surprised myself by being much more reflective about the past fourteen years than I ever thought I would be. Realizing now that I had agreed to step in under tragic circumstances within 24 hours of being contacted by the Executive Committee, I have to admit that it was quite an amazing first couple of months. And now I am leaving in the middle of a pandemic! But it was all that went on in between that mattered most to me. I have wonderful memories of my time as President: all of the opportunities to get to know so many of you, faculty and staff, students, and alumnae and alumni, all of the games, performances, and presentations that I was able to watch, and enjoy, and all of the challenges that we faced, and got through, together. And, as I have said before, I am pleased to be handing over the college to an experienced leader, Dr. Jayson Boyers, who was already working in May to establish a plan for our phased-in reopening in cooperation with the Governor’s mandated phases. Rosemont will be in good hands. I never anticipated this job, but I feel as though I have been blessed by the opportunity to serve as President of my alma mater. I will be always enormously thankful for your support of the college, and of me. Please also know that I will be coming back to the college and to campus – at least for my 50th Reunion next June! With great gratitude, Sharon
