The CODP is a structured project management trainee programme. It aims to nurture and develop recent graduates with construction related degrees and great potential, into well-rounded project managers.
Training We offer comprehensive training and selfdevelopment programmes to help Assistant Construction Officers grow and succeed, with emphasis on the following aspects: Professional qualification • Take HKIE Scheme A training, or work towards the HKIS or RICS graduate membership routes, with professional guidance from supervisors and tutors • The three streams we offer for HKIE Scheme A training are the Building, Civil and Building Services Disciplines Job knowledge and technical abilities • Working in various departments and performing a number of functions at construction sites and at the head office to acquire knowledge and experience of
all aspects and all phases of construction projects. Structured on-the-job training is supervised by dedicated work mentors • Technical training given through site visits or seminars and workshops delivered by in-house seasoned senior staff and external professional organisations Personal effectiveness and core competencies • Attendance at internal and external leadership and management skills workshops and seminars • Handling special projects and tasks assigned by senior management • Meeting regularly with a career coach to plan personal development progress

Programme introduction As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will undergo an extensive 30 months of training, including job rotation that will give you experience of working at project sites and in various head office departments. The programme covers training in all aspects of projects, quantity surveying matters, subcontracting, internal auditing, civil and E&M works, procurement and insurance, amongst others. QS staff with appropriate technical skills and core competences may have the option to pursue a project management career path in the longer term.
Training The programme includes: Mentor scheme • Senior professional QS as mentor • Supervision and guidance from the mentor • Regular reviews of diaries and logbooks • HKIS APC mock examination and interview / RICS mock interview
Training seminars • Three-year structured training seminars programme • QS technical skills – measurement, contract administration, interim payments, introduction to construction law, VO valuation • Claims preparation • Soft skills – presentation, writing, negotiation techniques and leadership Study group • Informal groups to prepare for professional assessment and further study • Regular internal meetings focusing on particular topics to allow the sharing of job experience • Top management give their support to problem-solving Post-qualification training • Construction law workshops and seminars • In-house or New World Group management training programmes • Higher education support scheme to obtain a Master’s degree Our senior professional Quantity Surveyors will support and assist your preparations for the Assessment of Professional Competence to obtain your preferred professional qualification from the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Programme Introduction Engineering graduates join us in the position of Assistant Engineer and are eligible to join our accredited HKIE Scheme A Training Programme, which provides on-the-job training in the following disciplines: • Civil • Building • Building Services
Training Assistant Engineers are encouraged to take part in various Continuing Professional Development activities to enhance their professional career and personal development and to work with a mentor to gain site experience. Design experience in building services or civil works is obtained through company arranged secondments to HKIE approved consulting engineers.

Programme Introduction Our two-year training programme is designed to help Assistant Safety Officers obtain the qualification of Labour Department Registered Safety Officer. After acquiring adequate experience, you may be considered for promotion to the position of Safety Officer and can apply for registration as a Registered Safety Auditor.
Training You will receive tailor-made on-the-job training under an experienced supervisor and your personal development will be closely monitored by the Safety Section. Subject areas covered by the training includes: External OSH Technical and Skill Training • Certificate in Workplace Noise Assessment • Certificate in Manual Handling Assessment • Certificate in Training the OSH Trainer • Job-related OSH seminars, CPD and short courses (for example, Safe Working Cycle and Safety Climate Courses) Internal OSH Training and Coaching • Career familiarisation at head office • Safety and Health Management System (OHSAS 18001 and SMR) • On-site construction safety management implementation • Safety training and promotion • Risk assessment (for example, job hazard analysis, noise assessment, manual handling assessment and DSE assessment) • Incident/accident investigation • Inspection and audit

Programme Introduction An experienced professional Environmental Engineer will: • Regularly supervise, provide support and guidance and keep track of your capabilities, development and achievements • Provide tailored on-the-job training and identify relevant external training for you to obtain professional qualifications, including Chartered Environmentalist/ Engineer, BEAM Pro and LEED AP qualifications
