Empowerment In The Family Legacy Ministry Building a Positive Family Legacy is tied to a comprehensive biblical outline which entails the cyclical flow of Christian Education, Evangelism and Economic Empowerment. Others, such as Black Enterprise have used Knowledge, Commitment, Investment, Portfolio Management and Wealth. As you embrace the concept of building a Positive Family Legacy we have outlined the process that it will take to get you there. Family Legacy Building is a continuum that will require focus and faith, as well as study and patience. Just don’t let any stage of the process frustrate you. Trust God and you will achieve your Goal. ~ Next Day Christian Education rises out of John 1:1 KJV ~ “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. This knowledge notes the pre-existence of Christ. His ‘before birth’ references Him as The Word or log’-os. This ‘divine expression’ enunciates Christ being ‘with God’ and the co-producer of what God spoke into existence. Christian Jubilee, Matthew 1:23 says we must be with God as He is with us in creating new beginnings in the lives of those devoid of Christ and living in the Authority of Stewardship. To enhance this, the Family Legacy Institute with its 12 Month Next Day Christian Education Curriculum emerges. Such Education should encourage you to expand your Knowledge and allow the dynamism of such wisdom to provide Family Legacy inspiration. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction” Proverb 1:7 NKJV.
Commitment ~ Once you have acquired knowledge and committed to the focus and faith of Next Day Christian Education, make a plan to pursue the ministry of Family Legacy Building. Our Year of Jubilee Family Legacy Booklet carries a helpful Analysis chart of your Income and Monthly Living Expenses. This analysis will help you determine the study and patience in moving from debt to building a Positive Family Legacy. How many persons comprise your family? Any young people with a piggy bank, who carry papers or with a part-time job? We want to talk with them about their future, we provide special help for them. Modeling and Mentoring for success is a biblical trait we must emulate. John
1
the Baptist followed this trait. He modeledElijah and Isaiah, John 1:19-28 as he mentored Andrew and Philip, John 1:32-39. “
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”. Psalm 37:5 KJV.
Investment ~Put into practice what you have learned, that is the theme of enrichment. Evangelism is its equivalent. The enrichment from heaven is the evangelism or the investment of the Living Story in the lives of others. God placed this life we should invest in on a Cross, and there He expressed His Love, John 3:16. Heaven has given the most perpectual wealth earth has ever received, and it will never expire, John 3:17-21. This is the investment for all ages. No financial institution can match its value, thus eternal increase was exposed one Sunday Morning when the stone over His open grave was rolled away, Luke 24:1-53. In the Family Legacy Ministry, such an investment must be made in your family members. Positive Family Legacies are derived out of the time, talent and tenth of this value system we invest in. So, lets invest in the Stocks of Support each family member will build upon the next 12 months. Let’s invest in the Bonds of Unity which will undergird our interest in these family structures and let’s invest in the Mutual Funds which updates our heritage and keep us contemporarily strong while respecting the diversity of this great heritage which comprises the framework of our family. “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also” 2 Timothy 2:2 NKJV.
Portfolio Management – A Portfolio is comprised of the securities held by an investor. While financial instruments may be the primary items held in one’s Portfolio toward retirement years, here I am most concerned with the temperament of the manager of that portfolio during this growth period. Everyone who invests in their families and portfolio create spiritual dividends until retirement. Let me tell you this brief story …. During the latter 90’s I was a co-host of a radio ministry titled-Crusade For Christ. This ministry was a spiritual call-in talk show with prayer and biblical counseling from 4-5pm Monday-Friday. Out of all the requests we received for prayer, approximately 80% of them was ‘I Need A Financial Blessing”. Pondering the request, it seems
2
very fair to reason that the need of more money is not the answer, but the need of better management is! I suggest today that if you have ever made the Prayer Request over a radio show or to yourself ~ I Need A Financial Blessing, know for sure, at that point, God started releasing your answer. Here is the resolution, You still have YOU, YOU still have family, YOU still have a prayer answering God on YOUR side. WHAT YOU HAVE IS UNDER HIS MANAGEMENT! Have you ever heard of A Steward’s Covenant? I‘m passing this one on to you. Review it and ask God again for His direction, this time with Proverb 3:5,6 attached, “5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” KJV.
A Steward’s Covenant I submit to the Lord God Almighty - I affirm His ownership of myself and every aspect of my life. I declare "my" money and possessions to be His. I proclaim Him to be the owner and I am the Steward and as Steward, I am His Money Manager. As a symbol of my total submission to God, I set aside the tithe, the first 10% of everything, as holy and belonging exclusively to the Lord. I will return to Him the whole tithe, being careful not to rob Him and incur His curse. I will give back to Him, through His church, the first fruits of all He provides. I do this in obedience to Him and in desire of His blessing (Malachi3:6-12). By faith I take God up on His challenge "Test Me in this and see." I ask Him to show me it is far better to live on 90% with His blessing than 100% without it. Having been set on the right course by the tithe, I embark on the lifelong adventure of Christian giving. Beyond the tithe, out of the 90% God has entrusted to me, I will seek to give generous freewill gifts, as I sense His leading. I pray God will teach me to give sacrificially to feed the hungry, to reach the lost, to invest in worthy causes and ministries which submit themselves to Christ and use His funds wisely and biblically (2Corinthians8-9).

I commit myself to get out and stay out of financial bondage, so I can serve God singlemindedly. Recognizing I cannot take earthly treasure from this world, I gather my Steward’s Purpose to lay it up in God's hands as heavenly treasurefor Christ's glory and the eternal good of others and myself. Both will give you the greatest advice needed to build and allocate your assets, develop a diversified portfolio based on your goals, age and risk tolerance. “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you” 15:15,16 NKJV.
Wealth ~ Continuing this Economic Empowerment theme, Deuteronomy 8:18 is our guide text in this cycle category. It states, 18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today” NIV. Wealth in this text is khan’yil and is best
defined as an army of great goods and an host or riches. This description follows the power or awesome capacity exercised by God in a firm and vigorous way when He placed Israel in their Promised Land. It was the PromisedLand which contained the wealth. Verses 7-10 affirms, 7 For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; 8 a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; 9 a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you” NIV.

Real Estate is a prime security to acquire in order to create Family Legacy Wealth. As it has been said, God is not making anymore land, but it may be some available, find out where it is and rely on His power to obtain it. If your family has land, don’t lose it. Robert Kiyosaki offers a definition of wealth and says, “Wealth is the number of days you can survive without physically working (or anyone else in your household physically working) and still maintain your standard of living … Ultimately, it is not how much money you make that matters, but how much money you keep and how that money works for you” (The CashFlow Quadrant: Rich Dad’s Guide To Financial Freedom). There is a difference in being rich and wealthy. Wealth is the accumulation of riches. What are you accumulating? Successful portfolio management enables you to achieve wealth. Careful estate and tax planning allows you to keep it.
