OUR STORY As you may understand from the very describable logo; we kinda love palm trees. And sand between our toes. And sea adventures ... It’s all about the outdoor life, travelling, exploring different cultures and collect awesome memories. It’s something about that fresh air in the lungs, the fresh breeze from the ocean and the sunny and amazing Gold Coast, that definently has inspired us to start this company. We just rely really love the beach, sea and vacations, and in what better way can we express our love than to create the items that you always bring with you to your sea and beach adventures. We give you a handmade range of products that has an organic and unique design, a lot of warmth and a bubbly boho vibe.

Palmlover want to join you on your vacations and trips to the beach. We offers a range of beach essential products which consists of 3 beach blankets in different shapes, with a tropical design theme and 3 matching beach bags. The designs are one with a simplified rose flower in a round shape, a palm leaf pattern in a octagonal shape, and the last one in a standard bath towel size with monstera plant leafs.

This is the final design sketches. The 3 designs is my own drawings. Iwanted to be creative in the shapes of the towels so that my products stand out from the competitors. The designs matches in a good way and I think that I have managed to keep the same kind of style throughout the collection.

Fabric, pom poms, rope, chalk and acryl paint where used to make the blankets and the bags. Original plan was to use towel fabric on the towels, but it wasn’t possible to paint on it, therefore I had to chose a thicker, more solid fabric.

Used chalk to mark up the design

Had to go over 2-3 times with acrylic paint to make the color sharp enough

I cut out the design and used it as a stencil on this one. The two others I painted from looking at the sketches.

I didn’t have a sewing machine available, therefore I actually made the bags with just a staple machine, duck tape, and a little hand sewing. It was an little weird yet somewhat functional DIY.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT THE IDEA BEHIND THE NAME I wanted a bit quirky, cute and memorable brand name. Palmlover is assosiated with the love for nature, travel and tropical enviroment. I get a positive vibe from it. It’s feminine, warm and orignial and fits perfectly to the products.

DESIGN FOCUS I wanted the hole logo to be very straight forward. The font is light and clean, and I made some tiny of modifications on the letters “A” and “R” without affecting the readability. It makes it more interesting and unique. The wanted design feeling is crisp and modern. The heart and leaf merge logo symbol is contributing to make the logo more personified and reflects the brand’s values in a good way. The logo symbol and the text together resembles the pure and natural feeling Palmlover is all about.

The hand drawn palm leaf merged into a simple heart shape gives a feeling of organic and boho. (I’ve drawn the leaf myself, and traced it in Illustrator)

CORPORATE IDENTITY

DESIGN FOCUS The logo really pops in white version with the dark palm picture (which is my own photo) as a background, therefore I’ve chosen to bring that through the hole branding. The peach color is a good contrast to the dark photo. The green colors presents nature and the peach color represent love and warmth.

Concept store As Palmlover’s long term goal I’ve illustrated what the future concept store would look like. Tropical theme to reflect the love for nature and pink/peach colors. It would be a small and charmy boutique that sells interior products, clothing, art prints, accessories, and other beach essential product brands with the same vision and quality.
