With EcoTonewood, Breedlove makes laminate technology sustainable, introducing a resonant core tonewood layer of clear-cut free, individually harvested African mahogany in place of the typical tone-robbing softwoods used in standard acoustic guitar manufacture. Coupled with Breedlove’s deep research into revolutionary body shapes; building to target tonewood weight adds to the optimised, natural sound of each guitar in the ECO Collection. And, Breedlove creates these better sounding laminate guitars while being kind to the earth while maintaining an accessible, entry-level price-point.

Where Breedlove Guitars are designed and crafted is just as important as how and why they are built. Breedlove Guitars is rooted in the small mountain town of Bend, Oregon. We chose to live close to nature with an emphasis on outdoor recreation, strong community, a love of music, environmental awareness and an appreciation for all things created by skilled craftsmen. While Oregon myrtlewood may be denser than Sitka spruce, it pairs with it to create guitars that fly past all others, surpassing the sound, tonal balance and richness of more traditional tonewood combinations. Our Sitka, from rugged stock, straight and true, is sustainably sourced. We never harvest these magnificent trees but work with Alaska Specialty Woods to salvage blown down trunks, often nearly 600 years old, from the forest floor, contributing to the health of the biosphere while putting a supreme instrument in your hands. Individually crafted in Bend, with all native tonewoods and the remarkable benefits of Sound Optimisation®, each Oregon Concert soft cutaway spruce/ myrtle model, available in Natural or Whiskey Burst finish, is performance ready, with LR Baggs EAS VTC electronics and a deluxe Breedlove hardshell case.
